Emotions of a pregnant woman. Mental changes during pregnancy

You already know how the baby develops in the womb of the expectant mother, what the embryo looks like at each stage. And what does a woman feel during pregnancy, how does her condition change, besides the cessation of menstruation, swelling of the mammary glands and enlargement of the abdomen? A complete pregnancy calendar will help you find out - from the day of conception to the crucial moment of delivery.

How does a normal pregnancy proceed in the early stages from the first days to the 6th week?

1-5th week

In the 1st-2nd week, the egg matures. At 3-4 weeks it is fertilized and implanted into the uterus. At the 4th-5th week of pregnancy, a change in appetite may occur. How does pregnancy proceed in the early stages and how does a woman feel? During this period, dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting are possible. Breast engorgement occurs. There are no menses. Pregnancy can be reliably diagnosed using laboratory and test methods.

Women with thyroid diseases require special attention during this period. They need to urgently consult an endocrinologist. Timely treatment will ensure the correct development of the thyroid gland of the unborn child. We must not forget about medical recommendations.

6th week

For some women, discomfort may intensify this week of the pregnancy calendar. But what can you do, the reason for this is hormonal changes in the body aimed at creating the best conditions for the development of the baby.

If you suffer from heartburn (caused by stomach contents entering the esophagus), then eat food more often, 6-7 times a day. Try to bend over as little as possible. After eating, walk around the room rather than immediately go to bed.

Of course, the condition of some women in the first weeks of pregnancy is far from ideal. If you feel nauseous, try a simple but effective remedy. As soon as you wake up, without changing your body position (horizontal), immediately eat something - an apple, an orange, a bun, and you can also ask for a glass of milk or your favorite juice in bed.

Regardless of how your pregnancy progresses, from the first days try to get more rest, go to bed early, and get up later. This has a positive effect on the nervous system. If you are worried about constipation (the cause is sluggishness of the intestinal muscles), drink more fluids, eat prunes and do special exercise.

If odors irritate you, just try to avoid contact with substances that are unpleasant to you.

If you are afraid of how pregnancy progresses in the early stages, and you have become very irritable, take up auto-training (or relaxation) - it helps a lot. Under no circumstances do we resort to self-medication.

Do not forget that according to the pregnancy calendar, a woman’s feelings such as nausea and intolerance to certain smells may increase.

As the first weeks of pregnancy progress, a feeling of heaviness and periodic tingling in the mammary glands appear.

Your weight has not changed yet.

Since the cause of your worsening condition cannot be eliminated, you will have to adapt to it. Therefore, the recommendations of doctors remain valid. Sometimes methods of oriental medicine (acupuncture, finger acupuncture) can cope with many ailments.

The emotional and physical state of a woman during pregnancy from 7 to 9 weeks

7th week

How does a woman in early pregnancy feel at the beginning of the seventh week? During this period, there is a gradual enlargement of the mammary glands, they acquire a rounded shape.

A dark brown coloration of the nipples and areolas (near-papillary circles) of the mammary glands appears - this is a common occurrence during pregnancy.

8th week

Changes in a woman's physical condition during pregnancy at this stage can primarily affect your skin. Body temperature increases, there is increased sweating and increased sebum production, but it can also be the other way around. For some pregnant women, the skin becomes elastic and clear, while for others it becomes dry and itchy. Try to keep all troubles to a minimum, limit the use of decorative cosmetics. The use of cosmetics that contain hormonal drugs is strictly contraindicated.

For many, the first weeks of pregnancy go by like one breath - before you have time to look back, the third month of this tremulous period has passed.

9th week

Pregnancy cannot go smoothly. Frequent mood swings bother you. Don't be alarmed. The release of pregnancy hormones changes not only your body, but also your emotions. Mood changes will occur in the first 3 months, when the level of hormones in the blood changes especially strongly, as well as in the last weeks of waiting for childbirth. The emotional state of a woman during pregnancy at this stage is somewhat depressed: you are constantly tired, you always want to sleep. This is fine. A new life is growing in you and this requires a huge expenditure of energy. Make sleep your top priority. Go to bed when you are tired, not after your favorite TV shows have finished. During your lunch break at work, try laying your head on your desk, closing your eyes and taking a 15-20 minute nap. After this you will immediately feel better.

Take a closer look at your chest.

Pay attention to the photo of the pregnancy calendar - it is noticeable that the subcutaneous veins in the form of a blue mesh begin to appear through the skin, which means that the walls of the blood vessels are predisposed to varicose veins:

The same reason can lead to hemorrhoids. Another reason for the formation of hemorrhoids is an enlarged uterus, which puts pressure on the veins of the rectum. All previous recommendations remain in effect.

To know in detail how a normal pregnancy proceeds in the early stages, it is not enough to gain knowledge on the Internet - you definitely need to register with a antenatal clinic.

Condition of a woman in the early stages of pregnancy in the first trimester (from 10 to 12 weeks)

Week 10

Nausea is still present - hold on, you just have to be patient a little, and your condition will improve.

Small nodules, the size of a lentil grain, may appear in the area of the areola of the mammary glands. These are the so-called Montgomery nodes - enlarged sweat glands - which is also one of the signs of pregnancy.

According to the week-by-week pregnancy calendar, at this stage the uterus has increased in width by about 10 cm, and it rises into the abdominal cavity. Using an ultrasound examination based on the size of the fetus, the doctor can more accurately determine the duration of pregnancy and the upcoming birth.

The gynecologist at the antenatal clinic, to whom you should regularly go for examinations, will explain in detail how pregnancy should proceed in the early stages.

Week 11

In the first trimester of pregnancy, the condition of some women leaves much to be desired. Many pregnant women suffer from heartburn in the morning. The best way to get rid of it is any body position in which the entrance to the stomach is higher than the exit, as this helps to reduce the reflux of gastric juice into the esophagus. Try to remain upright after eating or lie on your right side. Lying on your back increases the likelihood of heartburn.

Considering the condition of a woman in the early stages of pregnancy, the duration of nightly sleep should be at least 8 hours. Before it you need to take a walk for 1-2 hours. The bed should be comfortable. Bed linen needs to be changed frequently. You should sleep on your back or right side.

Week 12

The condition of a woman in the first trimester of pregnancy at the 12th week gradually improves, nausea begins to subside. Take care to prevent varicose veins in your legs. If you have this disease or are predisposed to it, wear tights.

How pregnancy should proceed in the early stages and what a woman feels from 13 to 15 weeks

Week 13

What happens according to the pregnancy calendar in the 13th week, when the first trimester ends? The problem that most often appears during this period is constipation, which causes very unpleasant sensations in a pregnant woman. The feeling of fullness can still be tolerated, but bloating with gases and associated pain, as well as some other difficulties, can be quite painful. It is good that the intestines are emptied at a certain time and without haste. Eternal haste and lack of time, mainly in the morning after breakfast, when the intestines usually begin to work, stops the urge to empty (defecate), which does not appear for a long time. If the remains of undigested food are not excreted daily in the feces, some of the toxins formed from them are absorbed into the blood. These substances are very harmful to the body. They begin to be excreted by the kidneys, which are already working with increased load.

When the urge to defecate appears, a woman, due to lack of time, does not always respond to them and thus teaches the intestines to work irregularly and lazily. Only one thing can help here: eradicating this habit. You need to visit the toilet regularly and force your bowels to work at the same time. Another cause of constipation is poor diet.

Week 14

In accordance with the detailed pregnancy calendar, changes in the skin continue during the 14th week. Pigmentation (brown coloring) of some of its areas appears.

Look at the photo of how pregnancy progresses in the 14th week - the “pregnant mask” is clearly visible (coloring of the skin of the forehead, temples, bridge of the nose, chin and upper lip in the form of a butterfly, which disappears immediately after childbirth):

In the calendar of this period of pregnancy, an increase in the volume of circulating blood is noted. Frequent urination may bother you.

You need to wash your entire body every day. This is necessary both for pleasant well-being and for health. After washing completely in warm water, you will feel fresh and healthy. During pregnancy, your baby receives 20% of oxygen through the skin, so it is important to keep it clean. When swimming, the water should be warm, never hot or cold. Both of these extremes can cause seizures and premature termination of pregnancy. Swimming in the bathroom is strictly prohibited. When showering, place a rubber mat on the bottom of the bathtub. Without this, you can easily slip and fall. During pregnancy, injury should be avoided.

Week 15

As the pregnancy progresses, this week all the unpleasant sensations are behind you. You feel absolutely great. Your family fully appreciates your condition and is trying to help you in everything.

A healthy woman can carry out her usual work until the seventh month of pregnancy. The ability to continue at a later date will depend on the type of activity. From the very beginning, you should definitely avoid heavy physical labor (do not lift or carry heavy objects), do not perform work that involves bending the body (laundry, mopping), avoid sudden movements, jumping, quickly going up or down stairs. During the normal course of pregnancy, a woman can do normal work, since everyday moderate physical and mental stress has a beneficial effect on the body, and also does not allow the development of obesity, weakening of the muscular system and does not lead to weakness of labor forces. When compiling a complete pregnancy calendar, it is especially noted that any overload can have an adverse effect on the woman’s body.

Pregnancy calendar: what happens from 16 to 19 weeks

Week 16

Metabolism during pregnancy changes significantly, this is due to the restructuring of the nervous system and endocrine glands. During pregnancy, the number and activity of enzymes increases. At the same time, the amount of metabolic products that need to be removed from the body increases. Basal metabolism and oxygen consumption increase.

Week 17

At this time, the fundus of the uterus is 6 cm above the symphysis pubis. You can no longer hide your pregnancy from others.

How should pregnancy proceed at this stage? In the body of a pregnant woman, the volume of circulating blood increases. This is essential for the growing fetus. The work of your heart has increased, its pumping function increases by 20%. For a woman’s body, this does not go unnoticed - the heartbeat quickens, sweating increases, and discharge from the genital tract appears.

How does a woman feel during pregnancy at 17 weeks? Discharge from the genital tract causes discomfort. Only a doctor can prescribe the correct treatment.

Leucorrhoea, among other troubles, causes itching, which can be very excruciating and sometimes painful. Sometimes even without them during pregnancy, a feeling of itching is felt in the external genitalia simply because they are overflowing with blood. In both cases, a sitz bath or simply washing will help. As a medicine for it, you can use a decoction of chamomile flowers or oak bark. But if the itching is especially painful, only your attending physician will give you all the recommendations. Do not rub or scratch itchy areas, as the irritated mucous membrane can ulcerate, fester and become a dangerous source of infection for a pregnant woman.

Week 18

This week you may feel the fetus moving for the first time. You will receive incomparable sensations, you will be surprised and delighted. But keep in mind that at this stage of pregnancy, movements may not occur consistently, so don't worry. That's how it should be. Soon they will become regular and familiar.

The day of the first fetal movement can be used to calculate the expected date of birth.

The absorption of phosphorus, which is necessary for the development of the nervous system and skeleton of the fetus, as well as for the formation of protein in its own body, is enhanced. Iron, which is a component of hemoglobin, passes from mother to fetus. During fetal development, the fetus accumulates iron in the liver and spleen. With insufficient dietary intake of this element, anemia occurs in pregnant women, and the development of the fetus is impaired. There is a delay in the pregnant woman's body of other inorganic substances (potassium, sodium, microelements). This has biological significance for the mother’s body, in particular, for preparation for childbirth and.

Week 19

The uterus continues to grow and takes up more and more space in the abdominal cavity. It becomes difficult to find a comfortable position while sleeping and resting. At this time, it is better to start attending classes at the School of Motherhood. Pregnant women who have undergone psychoprophylactic training experience much fewer complications during childbirth.

The accumulation of inorganic substances affects water metabolism, which contributes to water retention in the body. The inherent richness of tissues during pregnancy determines their easy extensibility, which is of great importance for the passage of the fetus through the birth canal. During the normal course of pregnancy, there is no significant retention of water and chlorides, the fluid is quickly eliminated from the body. In the pathological course of pregnancy (late gestosis), fluid secretion slows down, the accumulation of water and chlorides in the body increases, and edema occurs.

Weekly pregnancy calendar in the middle of the second trimester from 20 to 23 weeks

Week 20

The uterus has risen even more, its bottom is 12 cm above the pubic symphysis. Congratulations, you're halfway through your pregnancy and are in the middle of your second trimester. However, a woman’s condition in this week of pregnancy may cause concern, since uterine contractions can sometimes be observed at this time. These are the so-called Braxton-Hicks false contractions, i.e. the uterus begins to prepare for the upcoming birth. Although this is completely normal, care must be taken not to overload the body.

Vitamins are of utmost importance in metabolism during pregnancy. The need for them increases due to the growth and development of the fetus, as well as the need to maintain its own metabolism. The need for vitamins A, B, D, E, K, PP and C is increased. Vitamin C affects the development of the fetus and placenta, its daily requirement increases by 2-3 times. If a pregnant woman eats poorly, a lack of vitamins occurs, which can lead to disruption of physiological processes in the female body. With hypovitaminosis, the development of the placenta is disrupted.

21-22nd week

The changes occurring in a woman’s body at this time also affect the genitals. The ovaries enlarge and blood circulation in them increases. The uterus grows and increases in size. In the myometrium (muscle layer of the uterus), there is an increase in the size and number of muscle fibers and connective tissue. Each muscle fiber lengthens 10-12 times and thickens 4-5 times, the thickness of the walls of the uterus reaches 3-4 cm, its connective tissue grows and loosens. The number of elastic fibers increases. The size, capacity, tone, excitability and contractility of the uterus increase. Irregular contractions of this organ may appear - rare and painless. They are not felt by the woman herself, but are registered only during a special study. This signals that the body is beginning to prepare for childbirth. The position of the uterus has changed, the angle between its cervix and the body has disappeared, as it has deviated anteriorly. The consistency of the uterus becomes soft, especially in the lower segment. Fallopian tubes
take a vertical position, thicken and are more intensively supplied with blood. The pelvic tissue becomes loose and stretchable. At the same time, the blood supply to the vagina increases, its walls loosen, become stretchable, and the folds are more pronounced. The entrance to the vagina acquires a blue-purple (cyanotic) hue.

Week 23

In accordance with the accurate pregnancy calendar, this week the uterus has risen another 4 cm. The mammary glands continue to enlarge. If you massage and squeeze your breasts, colostrum will be released.

It is safe to say that every woman strives to breastfeed her child and thereby create all the prerequisites for his further healthy development. In order to avoid any unpleasant surprises in the future, you need to take care of the mammary glands and nipples already during pregnancy, first of all, maintain hygiene. It is quite possible that many of you would consider it a personal insult to mention the need to keep your nipples clean, but in reality, a small number of women practice good nipple hygiene. In most cases, colostrum, mixed with sweat and dust, dries on them in the form of crusts. This is due to the fact that many women's nipples are overly sensitive. For future painless breastfeeding, it is simply necessary to reduce their sensitivity.

How should a normal pregnancy proceed at 24-26 weeks?

Week 24

At this stage of pregnancy, the fundus of the uterus is 20 cm above the womb (at the level of the navel).

If you pay attention to the photo of the pregnancy calendar by week, you will see that the belly has grown noticeably at this stage, the woman has gained weight:

I feel good. You feel when he changes his body position, stretches his arms or legs. You notice that the fetus has periods of rest and periods of activity. Mom and dad can use gentle, rhythmic stroking of the belly to soothe him. Sometimes painful cramps appear in the calf muscles, most often they occur when stretching the legs while stretching on the bed. The reasons for this may be hormonal disorders in combination with a lack of vitamin B1.

How does pregnancy progress in women at this stage? An increase in intra-abdominal pressure complicates the outflow of venous blood from the lower extremities to the heart; it accumulates in the veins, which cannot withstand the pressure and expand.

If a cramp occurs in your leg while you are standing, immediately sit, or at least lean on something, and bend your knee. If you are at home, lie down. Quickly massage the muscle of the bent leg to the very depth as if you were kneading dough. The pain will pass quickly, but the muscle will still have increased sensitivity for a day or two. Try this while lying on your bed. You need to put something under your feet so that they are slightly raised.

If you want your legs to be healthy after childbirth and throughout your entire life, take care of them during pregnancy, when they are heavily loaded. Do not wear round, constricting garters, which impede blood circulation. From time to time, give your legs a rest - lie for a few minutes on your back across the bed vertically to the wall and lean your raised legs against it. Blood will flow better from the veins, you will feel relief. In summer, it is recommended to walk barefoot on water or grass.

Week 25

Your belly, where the fetus is developing, has become even larger. For some time you will have to forget about the wasp waist. Good health is maintained. It's time to think about a dowry for your little one.

You become tired more often and sleep more. Some pregnant women begin to feel back pain as their muscles become increasingly stretched. These pains are most often observed in those women who previously had a strongly curved lumbar spine and experienced pain during menstruation. During pregnancy, the curvature of the spine in this section increases even more, which is why pain occurs.

In order to get rid of them or at least reduce them, start doing physical exercises on time. If you lie on your back and bend your knees, the pain usually goes away. Stay in this position for 10-15 minutes. Lying on your side with your knees bent also relieves pain.

If the pain is too severe and you have never experienced anything like this before, consult a doctor immediately.

Week 26

New, not entirely pleasant sensations appeared in the form of rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath. In this case, you must definitely consult a doctor, eat little and often (since palpitations may be associated with a full stomach), walk more, learn to breathe correctly.

A pregnant woman's heart gradually adapts to the load. Due to the high position of the diaphragm in the last months of pregnancy, it is located more horizontally and closer to the ribs. The heart rate increases moderately in the second half of pregnancy.

Exact pregnancy calendar by week in the third trimester (from 27 to 40 weeks)

Week 27

How should a normal pregnancy proceed in the third trimester? During this period, a woman may begin to gain a lot of weight. The mammary glands become enlarged and engorged, and imbalance and decreased mobility are often observed. Weakness and dizziness may occur.

Extreme caution must be used. Take care of yourself and your baby. If trouble happens and you fall, immediately consult a doctor, who will find out if everything is in order, and if necessary, conduct a more in-depth examination.

During pregnancy, lung function increases due to increased oxygen demand. Despite the fact that at the end of pregnancy the uterus moves the diaphragm upward, the respiratory surface and vital capacity of the lungs do not decrease due to the expansion of the chest. In the last months of pregnancy, breathing becomes somewhat faster and deeper, gas exchange in the lungs increases. Sometimes there are congestion in the larynx and bronchial mucosa. This increases the susceptibility of pregnant women to influenza and other common infectious diseases.

Week 28

The uterus is growing. According to the weekly pregnancy calendar, at this stage the fundus of the uterus rises 4 cm higher from the level of the navel. Body weight also increases. Some women who are at risk of developing an Rh conflict with the fetus are given special medications at this time to reduce the consequences of incompatibility between organisms.

During pregnancy, hematopoiesis increases, the number of red blood cells, hemoglobin, and blood plasma increases. An increase in the volume of circulating blood, the number of red blood cells and the level of hemoglobin in them begins in the first months and continues until 7-8 months of pregnancy. Before childbirth, the intensity of hematopoiesis decreases. The volume of circulating blood by the end of pregnancy increases by 3-5-40%. An increase in the volume, number of red blood cells and hemoglobin level in the blood is of great importance for the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the fetus and tissues of the pregnant woman. In the blood coagulation system, changes occur that are adaptive in nature, in particular, the coagulation potential increases, especially in the last months of pregnancy. This helps prevent significant blood loss during childbirth (with placental abruption) and the early postpartum period.

Week 29

You are in a quiet period. All the ailments and unpleasant sensations of the beginning of pregnancy are left behind. The volume of the abdomen has increased, but not so much as to disturb you too much.

The size of the uterus increases and you may experience slight discomfort. This is a normal phenomenon, as neighboring organs have less and less free space. The amount of cholesterol in your body increases; it is necessary for the production of progesterone, which is necessary for the normal course of pregnancy. To reduce discomfort in your body, try to get more rest. Give up homework for a while, rather lie in bed, read an interesting book, listen to classical music. Receive positive emotions, they will benefit not only you, but also your baby.

Blood glucose levels may increase, especially if you consume excess carbohydrates. If glucose appears in the urine, the pregnant woman should be carefully examined.

As the uterus grows, the bladder stretches, moves upward, and the urethra stretches and straightens. The tone of the ureters decreases, their lumen becomes wider. At the end of pregnancy, the fetal head is pressed against the entrance to the pelvis, which may increase pressure on the bladder and increase the urge to urinate.

30th week

The center of gravity of the body shifts, carrying a child becomes increasingly difficult. Therefore, to reduce discomfort, you need to continue to monitor your posture and do not forget about the bandage and physical exercises. They will help you maintain your posture, good health, and properly prepare for childbirth. But don't overdo it, especially if you didn't exercise before pregnancy. Take more walks in the fresh air.

A set of gymnastic exercises corresponding to the exact pregnancy calendar week by week will be selected for you by specialists at the antenatal clinic.

When caring for the unborn child during pregnancy, a woman, however, should not overstep her boundaries. You should not think that it will benefit him if you take different pills, powders or all kinds of strengthening agents. Women love to take calcium supplements and various vitamins during pregnancy, which are often bought for them by their loving spouse, friends, and parents. This is completely unnecessary unless prescribed by a doctor. Regular (mixed) food contains a large amount of calcium salts, phosphorus, iron and vitamins necessary for a healthy woman, so it is completely in vain to introduce them additionally into the body. If you still need vitamins and minerals, your doctor will help you choose them. Sometimes a woman is afraid of harming the fetus by taking medications. Some caution in this regard is appropriate, especially with regard to sleeping pills and antibacterial agents. But if a doctor prescribes medications for you, he will certainly take your condition into account. We always, and especially when we take
If you don’t care, it’s better to use natural remedies, improve your diet and not take medications in vain. However, all medications prescribed by your doctor must be taken.

31st week

The uterus has risen above the pubic symphysis by approximately 31-32 cm. Weight gain ranges from 9.5 to 12.2 kg. Disturbing discomfort in the chest and pelvic area. Maintaining correct posture and exercise can help relieve pain. Lightly stroking your back should be a pleasant duty for your spouse.

As a result of the resulting hormonal changes, the pubic bones diverge to the sides by 0.5-0.6 cm. A more significant discrepancy (1-2 cm or more) is considered pathological (for example, if you have a narrow pelvis and a large fetus) , especially when pain occurs. Physiological changes in the pelvic joints contribute to the normal course of labor. During pregnancy, the chest expands, the costal arches rise, and the lower end of the sternum moves away from the spinal column.

In the photo showing how pregnancy progresses week by week, it is clearly visible that during this period the woman’s posture changes:

As the uterus grows and the abdomen enlarges, the spine straightens, the shoulders and the back of the head lean back, the curvature of the back in the spinal area increases, and a specific gait of a pregnant woman appears.

Week 32

At 32 weeks, the fundus of the uterus is 28-30 cm above the womb. Your weight is increasing quite quickly. It is becoming more and more difficult for you to find a comfortable position while sleeping, and thoughts about the upcoming birth arise more and more often.

Be sure to consult your doctor about any doubts you have. It is very important that a woman is in a good mood during pregnancy. A satisfied and cheerful person can better tolerate all sorts of small troubles. The feeling of satisfaction gives the consciousness of a fulfilled duty, and small entertainments that distract you from the monotony of life are also useful. A woman’s good mood has a positive effect on her metabolism and the activity of the whole body, which has a positive effect on the unborn child. Thus, if the mother is happy and cheerful, her baby will also benefit.

Don't be a hypocrite and don't say in a judgmental way that your best entertainment is homework. Believe that expanding your horizons will make you a better housewife and will benefit not only you, but also your family. A theater production, a film, a concert, a lecture, a book - all these are pleasant and affordable entertainment. Avoid large crowds, especially in poorly ventilated areas where breathing is difficult, as this increases the likelihood of respiratory illnesses. If you are in a room where people smoke, convince those present that cigarette smoke is harmful to you and ask them to stop smoking.

Week 33

At 33 weeks, the fundus of the uterus is 30-32 cm above the womb. The baby occupies the entire uterine cavity. You've gained a little more weight. By the end of pregnancy, a woman’s weight gain reaches 10-15% of her initial weight. Small deviations from this rule in either direction are of little consequence.

Every woman with poor vision needs to visit an ophthalmologist twice during pregnancy. The fact is that pregnancy can sometimes cause blurred vision. It is advisable that in such cases assistance is provided in a timely manner by qualified specialists. A woman with poor eyesight should avoid frequent bending. If this is necessary, it is better to squat down. A pregnant woman should not lift heavy objects or do work or exercise that causes a rush of blood to the head. The fact is that with all these movements, intra-abdominal, intracranial, and intraocular pressure increases, which has an adverse effect on the retina. Take care of your vision during pregnancy. Visit your doctor for a check-up and you won't have to worry about your vision getting worse.

Week 34

Your body continues to prepare for labor. You notice that uterine contractions begin to differ from those you felt before. Regardless of the fact that you are calm and joyfully awaiting the birth of a child, you will still have a feeling of anxiety, and sometimes just anxiety and fear, and for no reason. You feel cheerful and happy, and suddenly such a strange feeling. In the old days, you would have been afraid and believed that your feeling of fear was a premonition of a bad end. Many such cases have previously been described in the literature. Throughout her pregnancy, the woman was deprived of joy and imagined a bad course of labor in her thoughts. She paralyzed her strength and will, and she, of course, had less chance of coping with the difficulties that could arise during the birth process. But you will be reasonable, and you will try to overcome your unreasonable fear with your mind. Not every woman experiences such fear. However, we draw your attention to such a phenomenon, so that if it occurs, you will not be afraid.

Share what is bothering you with your doctor, who will try to find the reasons for your fear by examining your health. This is not always easy, because the feeling of fear can be caused by hormonal processes occurring in your body that affect the nervous system.

Week 35

According to the pregnancy calendar, this period is characterized by frequent urination, which makes you forget about restful sleep. You have to visit the toilet every 45-60 minutes. To cope with this, a pregnant woman needs to drink less fluid, do rotational movements of the pelvis before going to bed, and during the day do some not very hard work. If you follow these recommendations, you are guaranteed a night's rest.

Week 36

The fundus of the uterus rises higher from the middle of the distance between the navel and the xiphoid process of the sternum, which makes it difficult to breathe, and a feeling of discomfort may occur after a heavy dinner. How does a woman feel during pregnancy at this stage? Fatigue appears quickly. In the evening you may feel cramps in your ankles. Your body continues to prepare for labor. You notice that you are sweating more. Take a shower every day, try to wear only cotton underwear, and do not eat too fatty or spicy foods.

Week 37

If for some reason you go into labor now, doctors are unlikely to stop it, since you have a full-term pregnancy. You should see your doctor at the antenatal clinic every week until you give birth. Now the baby should normally be in the uterus with its head down (this is the so-called cephalic presentation), but in 3% of pregnant women, the fetus may have a different position in the uterus - legs or buttocks down (breech presentation). In this case, some problems during childbirth are possible. To avoid possible difficulties, obstetricians warn the expectant mother that the possibility of delivery by cesarean section cannot be ruled out.

38th week

You are completely in anticipation of the greatest event of your life and no longer pay attention to the pigmentation of the navel, external genitalia, pregnancy line (the brown line in the middle of the abdomen - from the navel to the pubis). At the end of pregnancy, many pregnant women develop striae - stretch marks, or stretch marks - on the skin of the abdomen, chest and thighs. These are red stripes that appear in places where the skin is overstretched. The reasons are the growth of the abdomen and enlargement of the glands. After childbirth, stretch marks gradually fade, become silvery, and are hardly noticeable, but do not completely disappear. The main thing for you now is a positive attitude. Not only you are worried, but also all your relatives, and each of them is trying to give you their own advice and recommendations.

It often happens that a pregnant woman, especially one expecting her first child, gets advice from everyone she meets. This is done, of course, with the best intentions, but the results are often negative. Only the advice given by the doctor during the consultation is decisive. Only he can take responsibility for both your health and the health of your child.

Week 39

How does a healthy pregnancy proceed in the penultimate week? The uterine fundus has dropped to the level of the 32nd week in primiparous women 2 weeks before birth, and in multiparous women this occurs immediately before birth. It becomes easier for a pregnant woman to breathe. This is due to the lowering of the presenting part of the fetus (head or pelvis) and pressing it against the entrance to the pelvis. The cervix begins to soften.

40th week

There is very little time left until the moment of meeting the long-awaited baby. Your body has been preparing for this moment for a long time. Now you are tormented by only one thought: how will everything go? Everything will be fine. Set yourself up for this, because you have done everything possible for this.

Anxiety, depressed mood and obsessive thoughts - all this periodically happens to every pregnant woman.

No matter how the pregnancy progresses, almost every woman from time to time has “difficult” thoughts, doubts, fears, and may experience depression. Here you need to understand that this is due to hormonal changes, the vulnerability of the pregnant woman’s psyche and the fact that natural fear and anxiety, to a certain extent, prepare a woman for the role of a mother.

Pregnancy is a wonderful and at the same time very exciting period in the life of every woman. And that's okay. After all, this is a natural state of the female body, during which a lot of changes occur: physiological, hormonal, psychological.
The entire body is rebuilt to fulfill a super mission: to bear and give birth to a child. During this period, a woman requires a special attitude towards herself; she needs the support and attention of loved ones.

A woman physiologically and psychologically participates in the creation of a new personality. A lot of information and interesting studies have already been collected about the prenatal period. We know that the child feels the mother's emotions. And it is mom and dad who create a space of love for the development and growth of the child.

A harmonious state for a woman and a family is when two people are pregnant. Only a woman carries a child, and a man carries a woman. This waiting period brings the family closer and minimizes the woman’s anxiety. But we are not talking about overprotection over a woman, when she is literally smothered with attention and pitied from all sides, interfering with the natural rhythm of her life.

Every person needs a feeling of fear in order to assess and avoid dangers. And the fear of a pregnant woman prepares her for the responsible process of giving birth and raising a child in the future. This is how the instinct to protect yourself and your child from possible threats is formed.

If you feel that you cannot cope with your fears and experiences on your own and they do not give you peace day or night; Perhaps this is why relationships with family begin to deteriorate or you become depressed - seek professional help from a psychologist. Your psychological state affects the course of pregnancy and childbirth.

I wish you an easy pregnancy and a positive mood during this period. In Russian there is a very poetic expression about a pregnant woman - “a woman in pregnancy.” Hope for the best and it will definitely come.

A pregnant woman and her husband should know by heart the peculiarities of different periods of pregnancy and, if possible, take them into account in the life of the family.

It is no secret to anyone who has at least once encountered a pregnant woman that her character changes, and quite dramatically.

But if this is the first pregnancy for you and your entire family, then you may be surprised and even shocked by how much the psyche of the expectant mother changes.

Many traditional cultures (for example, Chinese, Indian, Roman) had a very special attitude towards pregnant women.

Special conditions were created for them, as they would say now - perinatal clinics, in which the expectant mother was surrounded only by beautiful things, sounds, even smells. It was believed that a calm, aesthetically maintained environment could harmonize the internal state of a pregnant woman - both physical, emotional, and mental.

The situation and psychological climate of a big city are often far from the ideal conditions that our ancestors strived for, and that many literate future parents still strive for. But the pace of the big city - ragged, nervous, oversaturated - still makes itself felt. There is too much of everything around us - impressions, a wide variety of information, people with their contradictory internal states.

Often all this does not at all contribute to the calm, harmonious mood of a pregnant woman.
Let's try to imagine the dynamics of the emotional state of a pregnant woman, connecting the changes occurring in her psyche with such a tangible thing as the duration of pregnancy.

First trimester

Big changes

It happens that a woman does not yet know about her pregnancy, but already feels that something is happening to her. Moreover, for most women, the changes in the first trimester of pregnancy are by no means simple.

Many pregnancy experts consider the first trimester to be a revolutionary time.
Too much changes in metabolism, and in hormonal status, and in physiological, and of course, in psychological sensations.

There is still a lot to get used to: for example, taste preferences change, you may begin to like completely different colors and music of those genres that previously did not evoke a response.

In my opinion, one of the significant factors determining the psychological state of a pregnant woman is early toxicosis.

It is very difficult to enjoy life and be pleasant in communication when you feel sick almost all the time, and even all the usual products stink unbearably. (I apologize for the harsh language).

More than a third of women who perceive the world through a veil of nausea for the first three months.

As a rule, obvious toxicosis is associated with a depressed state, sudden mood swings and even depression.

The first trimester cannot be called calm. An experienced midwife I know said that the situation in the first three months of pregnancy is revolutionary. This is when “the top can’t, but the bottom doesn’t want to.”

And realizing the fact that soon enough it’s not easy for everyone to become a mother. Moreover, the child may be planned, and even long-awaited - but the human, and especially the female, psyche is structured in such a way that it takes time to realize and accept pregnancy.

And you shouldn’t condemn and punish yourself for the moments of confusion and anxiety in those first hours and days when you just found out that you were pregnant.

A good way, in my opinion, to talk with friends, acquaintances, and women who have already given birth. And from many women who have gone through pregnancy and become good mothers, you will definitely hear about a difficult attitude towards pregnancy at the beginning.

The fact that you were not immediately happy does not mean at all that you will not love the child, and that you will not turn out to be a mother, but a viper.
Just give yourself (and, of course, the child's father time). You get used to big things gradually. And this tiny child inside you is a very big event.
The main task of a pregnant woman is to accept the fact of pregnancy at least by the end of the first trimester and begin to actively enjoy it.

Everything is disgusting:
In more loyal medical language, which does not reflect the essence of the process, a woman’s taste preferences change and quirks appear. In one of the eastern languages there is even a special word for the quirks of a pregnant woman.

It would seem that there is no connection with the psyche - sheer physiology.

But if in the morning you cannot happily drink your favorite coffee simply because you feel nauseous, this may simply be a blow to the foundations of life.

You feel that some aspect of life is eluding you and you cannot usually enjoy the taste of your favorite food. What used to give a pleasant taste sensation is sometimes a real torment, and you don’t want to eat anything.

It will take a few weeks and you will become quite comfortable with these changes.
True, I have never met people who liked the state of toxicosis.
Increased sensitivity to odors and its impact on the psychological state:
A pregnant woman may smell strong and unpleasant odors everywhere. The refrigerator, and sometimes the food being prepared, smells especially disgustingly.
Favorite perfumes and smells of close friends may become disgusting.

Toxicosis can sometimes spread to the husband.

I want to sleep uncontrollably:
Sleep rolls in like a huge wave and covers you. You sleep very deeply, sometimes so deeply that it is difficult to wake up. Sleep may be dreamless, but you may also have surprisingly vivid dreams.

In general, if you can sleep, sleep well. “The soldier is sleeping, but the service is going on.” Many unpleasant sensations and experiences during the first trimester of pregnancy can be easily treated with sleep.

Mood swings:
The emotional state of a pregnant woman in the first trimester is quite uneven.
Happy, euphoric states are replaced by periods of depression and depression. These mood swings usually do not have a good reason. External events are often just a reason for strong emotions to come out.

Don't be scared or surprised by these mood swings - they are caused by sudden changes in your hormonal state.

Sometimes there is confusion, uncertainty about the future, a feeling that you can’t cope:

It can be difficult to get used to the idea that very soon your life will change, that you will not be able to plan next summer as usual. The thought of those new things and events that lie ahead of you can cause uncertainty.

Uncertainty about many everyday issues also does not add confidence. After all, the relationship between the future father and mother is often determined and formalized precisely with the onset of pregnancy.

Second trimester

Calm mid-pregnancy:

Getting used to the “new format” of your body.

For many expectant mothers who are accustomed to taking care of themselves, changes in the size of the waist and hips cause mental shock of varying degrees of severity. Of course, you guessed that your figure would change, and even expected it. But when suddenly your favorite skirt or trousers become too small, it’s a surprise.
Accepting and loving the changes in your body, feeling beautiful and loved in a new way - this is what you should strive for in the second trimester of pregnancy.
Changes in attitude towards the physical side of love:
There is a child growing inside you - a whole person - and few sensations remain the same. This is especially true for gender relations.
When you are alone with your husband, you will again and again feel that there is someone else with you. And for some couples, these feelings can be disturbing.

Self-esteem level jumps:

Often, the expectant mother can feel almost like a queen, and the next moment - a Cinderella of no interest to anyone.
Euphoria is replaced by doubts.
The hormonal pendulum of pregnancy is swinging.
Waves of strong emotions often come over unimportant occasions.
You need to accept these changes in yourself, just as you accept the movements of a child inside you.

Amazing calm and harmony:

If all the changes mentioned above have occurred, the pregnant woman has every opportunity to simply enjoy life, herself, the child, listen to new sensations and enjoy her new states.
In many cultures, a woman with a rounded belly is a symbol of beauty, harmony, and fullness of life.

In the middle of pregnancy, you can experience states of blissful peace, integrity, and harmony.
Take care of these moments.

Third trimester

Self-immersion

Those psychological characteristics and conditions that arise at the end of pregnancy have a “main thematic line” - immersion within oneself.

If everything in the family is fine, if the woman is confident that pregnancy is not a disease, and childbirth is not a surgical operation, if the support of close and attentive doctors is obvious, changes occur in the emotional world of the pregnant woman, and they are very important for subsequent harmonious motherhood.

In the last two months of pregnancy, you can regularly observe how a pregnant woman seems to be sensitively listening to something inside herself.
And there is something to listen to - after all, at this time the baby’s movements in the stomach are very, very noticeable.

The concept of “binary psyche of a pregnant woman” perfectly explains many conditions at the end of pregnancy. Mom is gradually getting used to the fact that she is not alone. And this someone inside her now obviously has her own desires. Sometimes he doesn’t let you fall asleep, he pushes and turns, and sometimes he uncontrollably wants to sleep because the baby in his stomach has fallen asleep. The rhythms of sleep and wakefulness of mother and baby are connected. But the baby sleeps much more, and this can cause increased sleepiness in the mother.

Immersion in internal sensations:
Suddenly you become distracted and focus on the baby's movements inside your womb. And it is precisely these, sometimes not at all strong, movements that become more important to you than anything else. It’s as if the focus of the setting changes (like a camera or video camera), and what’s inside you becomes clear, and the rest of the world seems to lose sharpness. It becomes unimportant.

Dreams and fantasies about the future child:

Often a pregnant mother can think and wonder what he will be like, this little man whom no one has ever seen or held in their arms.
These thoughts may make it difficult to fall asleep or may result in vivid, colorful dreams.

Decreased sociability:
You may stop wanting to visit noisy companies, museums and exhibitions. This is normal, and is associated with an increasing focus on home and the future child.
Don’t be afraid of decreased sociability and overpower yourself. There's just time for everything
And vice versa, there may be a desire to get everything done, finish it and transform it:

Many pregnant women suddenly experience tremendous activity in the very last stages - as if a jet engine was turned on.

I want to finish everything, do everything, surpass myself.
The approaching birth is like a mountain range, and what is beyond it is unknown, despite all the active preparation.
Therefore, you want to do everything here and now, while you are still on this side.
This is a good rush, but it is important not to overwhelm yourself and those around you, trying to complete repairs, complete a diploma or a quarterly report.

An overtired woman may not have enough strength to give birth.

Therefore, balance the load with the amount of time and effort.

Instinctive avoidance of everything unpleasant and ugly:

A woman at the end of pregnancy instinctively avoids difficult situations. Confused relationships, spectacles overloaded with strong effects.
The expectant mother has a clear sense of “right” and “wrong.” And the wrong cat almost vomits - as during toxicosis.

Increased psychological fatigue and avoidance of unnecessary impressions are only one of the reasons why a woman moves away from everything inharmonious.
It’s just that your natural sense of proportion has returned to you.

Learn to trust your intuition, sense of proportion and taste. This will greatly help you in the first months of your baby's life.

"Nesting" instinct:
All or almost all the interests of a pregnant woman in the last weeks before giving birth are centered around the house - around the hole where the baby will soon appear.
Moreover, even the most homeless and economically unemployed individuals, for whom housekeeping has always been only a burden, can experience such a period.

Pronounced changes in intellectual activity:
99% of women experience serious difficulties in thinking strictly, consistently and relatively quickly logically in the last 2 months of pregnancy.

A few words to actively working expectant mothers

Major changes in the emotional palette of a pregnant woman:
There are changes that are common to most pregnant women. They can appear at different stages of pregnancy, with different intensities.
If you have not experienced any of what is listed in this article, then you are just the lucky exception that confirms the rule.

Mental qualities of a pregnant woman that can make life difficult:

Sentimentality:
Tears can appear from the most insignificant experiences and impressions, in those parts of books and films in which you have never cried before.
Don’t be ashamed of your tears - this has already increased your overall emotional sensitivity, which will help you understand your baby in the future.

Anxiety:
Anxiety that occurs periodically is most often associated with the thought “Something may be wrong” - with the baby, with the progress of childbirth, with family relationships. You need to be able to cope with anxieties, and each pregnant woman does this in her own way. It is worth remembering that the presence of anxiety is absolutely normal. So, don't worry about worrying!

Suggestibility:
Often the words of another person, spoken with authority and inner strength, make a lasting impression on a pregnant woman. If you know this characteristic of yourself, try to take your husband with you to all sorts of “difficult” places, feel free to use his protection, and be married.

Touchiness, tendency to unmotivated tears:
These tears “for nothing” can frighten and puzzle your loved ones. You should treat these “precipitations” as calmly as possible.
The best way is to remember your usually far from calm state before your period. Treat these “precipitations” as short-term.
Try to be distracted, switch your attention, and not get stuck in a tearful and offended state.
Do not give your husband any reason to think that your character is incorrigibly deteriorating.
Brief “insults” from pregnant wives are easily tolerated by men. Prolonged ones are much worse.
Don't attach much importance to such grievances. They arise out of nowhere and are only a projection of your inner state.

Strengths of the emotional world of a pregnant woman:

Sensitivity and intuitiveness:
A pregnant woman is like a sensitive sensor that detects emotions from the state of other people.
Pregnant women have much better opportunities to sympathize and empathize than other people.

Demonstration of creative abilities:
A mother who is expecting a child, unexpectedly for herself and those around her, can start drawing, sewing original clothes, composing poetry and even music.
A variety of creative abilities can make themselves felt during pregnancy.
And science does not yet know whether the reason for this is the first manifestations of the talents of the intrauterine child, or the reliable fact that, starting from the middle of pregnancy, the activity of the right hemisphere of the brain increases in a woman. And the right hemisphere is traditionally associated with creativity and fantasy.

Special attitude towards husband and home, manifestation of design abilities:
The expectant mother suddenly becomes interested and important in many things that previously, moving at the rapid pace of a big city, she might not have had enough attention, time and energy for.
You become extremely concerned about the furnishings of your home. A lot of thoughts are caused by the task of furnishings and colors of the entire living space that you are planning for your child.
Design abilities flourish in the last trimester of pregnancy.

And the psychological state of a pregnant woman greatly depends on the feeling of comfort or discomfort around her.

An attentive attitude towards your husband and a desire to take care of him, almost maternal, may appear.
It’s good if you manage to strengthen and enrich your relationship during pregnancy. After all, the first months of your baby’s life may require both of you to immerse yourself in completely different matters and concerns.
Let the pregnancy period (after toxicosis ends) become a real “honey half year” for you. This reserve of tenderness for each other will be very, very useful to you.

What you shouldn't forget:

  • Remember that mother and baby are connected by a single hormonal current through the placenta, which means that the baby knows all the main states and emotions of the mother, as they say, from the inside.
  • Remember that an unborn child is “made” with a large margin of safety, and a single stressful situation cannot harm it. Only systematic, day after day repeated stress can cause any disturbances in the development or physical well-being of the baby. This means that systematic stress should be avoided as much as possible both at home and at work.
  • If it is difficult for you to give up this or that bad habit, or an activity that may not be useful for the unborn child, think about the fact that 9 months of pregnancy is such a short period of time (although it often seems huge). And it is in these 9 months that the prerequisites are laid

What situations are best avoided:
  • Watching aggressive television programs, or simply too scary or strong stories, is not the best activity for a pregnant woman.
  • Overwork of all types and chronic stress in a pregnant woman are contraindicated.

What should you do:

  • You should provide yourself with the support of reliable and calm specialists in the management of pregnancy and childbirth as early as possible. This will help you feel like you are in good hands and in control of the situation.
  • Try to find time for proper rest, etc. no less important, full walks.
  • Understand that systematic overload in work (study) is not at all what is beneficial for the psyche of the expectant mother and the intrauterine child.

In conclusion:

  • Many women enjoy the state of pregnancy. It seems very comfortable to them psychologically and physically.
  • Almost all pregnant women are beautiful both externally and internally.
  • Those expectant mothers who managed to accept and love the changes that pregnancy brings with it simply glow from the inside.
  • And there are no women whose psychological state would not be changed by pregnancy.
  • We strongly recommend that you introduce the materials of this article to your future dad, and in general to all relatives with whom you communicate closely.
  • Your husband will never be able to figure out many things on his own, simply because he is not a pregnant woman, and he does not even have the internal organs that would help him understand your conditions.

Psychologically, the future father requires much greater intellectual and emotional stress in order to become closer to the pregnancy process, closer to his “non-idle” wife and unborn child.

I would like to say that one should not think that all these truly volcanic changes will pass by themselves after childbirth.
The psyche of a nursing mother and her emotional states is a completely separate topic, but many of the changes that happen to a woman during pregnancy persist during breastfeeding.
Moreover, almost all changes during pregnancy are internal preparation for motherhood, a unique “school for mothers”, the program of which was written by the Creator himself.
Carrying a baby and being a mother is very interesting.

Starting from the first weeks of an interesting situation, a woman’s body undergoes many changes. The physiological and psychological state during pregnancy largely depends on the period of fetal development. In this article we will look at what physiological changes occur during pregnancy.

Condition in early pregnancy

In most cases, the condition does not change in any way in the early stages of pregnancy, in the first 4-5 weeks after conception. In addition, often even the expectant mother herself does not yet know that significant changes are coming in her life. Typically, changes in a woman’s well-being are noticeable after the sixth week, when the pregnant woman develops symptoms of early toxicosis: morning sickness, lack of appetite, odor intolerance. Also, culinary preferences often change during this period: previously favorite foods become intolerable, and what was previously disliked, on the contrary, can become the most delicious delicacy.

At 7-8 weeks, the condition during pregnancy is characterized by the appearance of a feeling of pressure from the growing uterus on the bladder, frequent urination and possible hypertonicity. Hypertonicity of the uterus is a situation in which the organ is constantly in a tense state, which is fraught with spontaneous termination of pregnancy.

In the last month of the first trimester of pregnancy, the formation of the placenta and mucous plug ends, the symptoms of toxicosis, if any, disappear, but new changes appear in the condition of the pregnant woman - problems with the digestive tract, in particular heartburn and difficulty defecating.

Condition in the second trimester of pregnancy

If the pregnancy develops normally, without any complications, and the expectant mother’s health is satisfactory, then the gynecologist may allow the woman to have sexual relations in the second trimester. This is a very important factor in the normal psychological state during pregnancy. In many women at this stage of an interesting situation, gynecologists diagnose increased acidity of the vagina, which provokes the appearance of thrush.

By 17-18 weeks the belly becomes noticeable, ligaments and joints prepare for upcoming changes and soften. This leads to the appearance of the so-called duck gait. It's time for the expectant mother to give up any shoes with heels.

Since that time, pregnant women are increasingly bothered by heartburn, a constant companion of pregnancy. The reason for this phenomenon is physiological, caused by the growth of the uterus and its pressure on the organs of the digestive tract. Therefore, the expectant mother needs to see a doctor so that he can prescribe her approved antacids.

During pregnancy, the state of the body changes completely, not only the stomach and breasts increase in size, but also the level of blood pressure often decreases. This occurs due to the fact that the volume of blood circulating in a woman’s body increases significantly. Low blood pressure can lead to dizziness and even loss of consciousness.

By the end of the fifth month, the expectant mother, who is predisposed to the appearance of a venous network, experiences the first symptoms of varicose veins: increased fatigue and swelling of the legs. Changes in the hormonal state during pregnancy lead to stretch marks (striae) appearing on the skin of the thighs, chest and abdomen, age spots forming on the abdomen and face, and small pimples.

Often, by the end of the sixth month, expectant mothers are faced with such an unpleasant condition of the body during pregnancy as urinary incontinence. The grown uterus constantly puts pressure on the bladder and the slightest strain on the organ leads to the urethra leaking urine. A pregnant woman should pay attention to the amount of fluid released; if its amount exceeds 10 ml, then this may be a symptom that amniotic fluid is leaking.

By the 25-26th week of an interesting situation, the condition of a pregnant woman may be complicated by the appearance of seizures. The reason for this unpleasant and painful phenomenon is a lack of magnesium and calcium in the body. The appearance of swelling of the legs in the morning during this period may be a symptom of developing gestosis (late toxicosis). To prevent the appearance of gestosis, it is necessary to reduce the amount of meat and salt consumed.

At the end of the second trimester, a woman already feels heaviness in her body. And it’s not surprising, because her weight increased by 7-10 kg. This results in pain in the back and lumbar region. This is how the musculoskeletal system lets you know that it is not easy for it to cope with the load. A special bandage will help ease the condition of the body during pregnancy, which will reduce the load on the lumbar spine.

Condition during pregnancy in the third trimester

In the third trimester, a pregnant woman’s condition is often characterized by sleep problems, weakness, and fatigue. The listed factors are symptoms of anemia, so if they appear regularly, you should consult a doctor. Expectant mothers are also worried about shortness of breath due to the pressure of the enlarged uterus on the diaphragm.

During this period, women need to lie down and sleep in a position on their side. Moreover, the upper leg should rest on the pillow, slightly in front. This position is most optimal for expectant mothers, since when lying on the back, the inferior vena cava is compressed, which leads to a decrease in the amount of blood entering the brain and the appearance of the following conditions during pregnancy: dizziness, darkening of the eyes, lack of air, sweating.
