At a height of 9-10-11 cm, knit the next row like this: 7 stitches in garter stitch, 14-15-16 in knit stitch, 7 in garter stitch. Continue in the same way until the height is 22-24-27 cm, close.

Description of knitting slippers

Knit in straight and reverse rows from top to bottom, starting from the middle of the back side.

Cast on 40-44-48 sts. Work 8 rows in garter stitch. Place the mark in the middle. Continue with stockinette stitch, knitting edge stitches as before in garter stitch. At the same time, in the first row of the front stitch, add 1 stitch on both sides of the central two stitches - see instructions for adding. Repeat the increase on each row (i.e. both RS and WS) a total of 13-14-16 times = 66-72-80 sts. Work one row after the last increase. Now the length of the product is 11-11-12 cm. Continue with garter stitch, and after the 6th row, bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of the next four rows (i.e., close 2 stitches on each side) = 62-68 -76 sts. Having knitted a total of 10 rows in garter stitch, loosely bind off all the loops.

Assembly

Fold the product in half. Sew a seam under the foot and a back seam.

Probably, to some, such a name as “slippers” for what is shown in the picture may seem inappropriate, however, in Sweden such knitted products are called even more strangely - “tv-tofflor”. The name can be literally translated as “TV slippers.” It is understood that such socks (call them what you want!) are very convenient to wear while at home.

It should be said that in the houses of the northern rural province of Sweden - Norrbotten - it is customary to walk around the house in knitted socks, and not in the house slippers we are accustomed to. Based on my own experience, I can confirm that watching TV or relaxing on the couch with these socks and slippers on your feet is very pleasant. They knit quite quickly - you can knit them in just a couple of evenings.

Here I have four more options for real slippers with knitting patterns, here you will find both crocheted and knitted, as well as their combinations, for example, with crochet trim. The models are from an old supplement to the magazine, the photographs leave much to be desired, but I am sure that the material has not lost its relevance to this day.

To knit slippers you will need:

wool yarn of two colors, main - 60-80 grams (in this case lilac), additional (pink) - 40-60 grams. To knit my slippers with knitting needles, I took Semenovskaya yarn “Natasha”. The main shade is purple, the additional shade is pink.

Now you can get to work. The main stitch is garter stitch, that is, odd and even rows are knitted.

We use so-called “lazy” patterns. That is, they are simple to perform, but at the same time beautiful.

Beginning of knitting - for slippers of size 35-36 you need to cast on 67 loops and 2 edge stitches, that is, a total of 69 loops.

In odd rows: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 - you need to add four loops with a crossed yarn over according to the pattern: after the edge loop, before the middle loop (in my case it was the 34th), after the middle loop and before the second edge

Knit all even rows with knit stitches only.

Start knitting slippers

Now on the knitting needles we have increased the number of loops to 93 = 2 cr. p + 67 p. + (4 p. * 6 r.)

Knit 15 and 16 r. with one knit thread of the main color, and rows 17 and 18 with knit yarn of an additional color.

This way we finished the sole of the slipper. By the way, to increase the “wear resistance” of the product when knitting the sole, you can add a simple cotton thread to the wool thread.

19 rub. - knit with a thread of an additional color, repeating every third loop with the main yarn 14 times, placing the working thread behind the knitting, while 2 loops of a different color will be next to the edge loops and 7 loops in the center of the knitting.

Subsequent even rows will be knitted, and the stitches of the main color will be re-skinned again; the thread should be placed before knitting.

21 rub. - knit stitch (lilac), 7 stitches in the middle in the center are knitted with one knit stitch, you get a very cute “rosette” along the center line in the front.

Scheme for the river 19 - 21 need to be repeated an additional 6 times, that is, knitting only 7 identical elements of the pattern.

When there are 51 stitches left on the knitting needles, the hardest part is over. Knit the upper part of the slipper as you like. I usually use a combination of garter stitch and 1*1 rib, finishing with garter stitch.

All that remains is to sew the finished product with a thick needle, put it on and sit comfortably with a book by the fireplace or in a chair in front of the TV.

And one more note. Since indoor floors are most often slippery, you can apply drops of liquid rubber to the soles, which when dried slightly hardens and in such slippers-socks it will no longer be slippery to walk on the varnished floor. Very practical.

How to make warm winter slippers for home? Except knitting. There is a very original method that, to my taste, is original. I like that the result is not always predictable. The result will be a dense product, like felt boots. First, the slippers must be knitted with knitting needles from wool specially designed for this purpose, and then felted in a regular washing machine.

I received exactly the same slippers as you see in the photo below as a gift from Natasha, the author of the description above. Just a little different color scheme- gray with pink. The shape fits the foot perfectly.

I myself used to knit only the most ordinary “country” knitting needles on five needles. Based on a description taken from an old knitting book.

I think that for those who want to make real slippers with soles, this diagram with description can also be used. After sewing the knitting fabric together, you can simply sew on a sole, cut, for example, from a piece of leather.

Although I would have done things differently. House slippers do not last long; they need to be changed periodically. If you leave the factory lower part, removing the outdated upper part, then it can later be well adapted for new homemade woolen shoes.

I can say that I wear these woolen socks with great pleasure; I washed them in the washing machine several times. They were originally knitted quite loosely, but now they have felted a little, shrunk in size, become more like real slippers and fit my tiny foot size perfectly.

They even recently traveled with me to Norway, where I walked through the mountains and forests. There, in houses it is customary to immediately take off your shoes; walking inside in shoes is considered barbaric, so the knitted slippers-socks were very useful - I walked around the wooden hut in them.

If I decide to make more of the same ones, for myself or as a gift (even though I haven’t done this myself for a hundred years!), then I think I’ll stop at these. The big advantage for me is that they are knitted flat and then seamed.
