The surest way to determine the sex of a child. How to determine the sex of a child. Rating of the most reliable methods. Is it possible to find out the sex of a child during pregnancy without an ultrasound and what methods are there to determine early at home? Determine the gender of the future

If it's a girl:

  • You will feel sick in the morning
  • Baby's heartbeat is more than 140 beats per minute
  • You will gain weight in your hips and buttocks
  • Your hair will take on a slightly reddish tint.
  • Your belly will look like a watermelon
  • In food he will have a weakness for sweets, fruits, orange juice
  • You will see a blush on your face
  • Your urine is light yellow
  • The first push of the baby in the tummy on the right

The theory of the intensity of the sexual life of spouses is considered to be weakly reliable. If a young man has had a long period of abstinence, then most likely a baby will be born. If the couple makes love quite often, then a boy will be born.

This theory also finds scientific confirmation. “Male” sperm do not live long, so a man will have a daughter after a long period without sex. In this case, the concentration of “female” sperm is increased.

Another definition of son or daughter. This can be done by looking at our dad! If the father is a little bald, then expect a boy, but if he has thick hair, expect a daughter. You should also expect a girl if your husband has great masculine strength and wears loose underwear.

Nowadays there are simply a huge number of ways to find out whether you have a daughter or a son. Which method to use is up to you to decide. The most important thing is that the baby is the most beloved and desired for the future parents.

The question of how to determine the sex of the unborn child worries potential parents, perhaps no less than his health. In their quest to find out who will be born, some are guided solely by interest, others by principle. In any case, even today, in the 21st century, moms and dads resort to methods that are often far from science to do this.

The sex of the unborn child depends on the chromosomes carried by sperm.

Everyone knows what factors determine the sex of a child from a school anatomy course. During sexual intercourse, a huge amount of sperm enters the vagina. True, only the most persistent ones reach the cervical mucus, while most die in an acidic environment. After this, the “lucky ones” cross the uterine cavity and end up in the fallopian tube, where they meet the egg.

The egg carries the X chromosome, while the sperm that fuse with it can carry both the X and Y chromosomes. In the first case, a female embryo is born (chromosome XX), in the second - a male embryo (XY).

There are no scientifically proven methods that allow you to calculate the sex of a child in advance, before conception. This can only be done during pregnancy, using an ultrasound or amniotic fluid analysis.

Methods for determining the sex of a child

We list the most popular ways to influence the gender of the fetus and determine it after conception. All of them are free, you can do it yourself, but the reliability and accuracy of these methods are highly questionable.

By date of conception

Of all the methods discussed below, the method of determining sex by is the only one that has a scientific basis, but even taking this into account, it is not accurate. The technique is based on the fact that sperm carrying the Y chromosome are more active. On the day of ovulation, they are the first to reach the egg and fertilize it. Therefore, if you correctly determine the date of ovulation, you can plan to conceive a boy.

Sperms with X chromosomes are slow, but at the same time more stable and tenacious. They can be present in the female genital organs and remain active for up to 7 days. Thus, if sexual intercourse took place several (3-4) days before ovulation, by the time of ovulation only sperm with X chromosomes will remain alive, which means a girl will be conceived.

Determining gender using the table

A kind of “calculator” for the sex of a child online - ancient tables that take into account the dates of birth of the parents and the date of conception. The most popular among them are the Japanese and Chinese calendars.

  • Japanese version

The Japanese calendar, based on the principles of astrology and numerology, consists of two parts. The first table determines the number that connects the birth dates of the potential father and mother.

Table No. 2 shows the probability of having a child of one sex or another. In the top line you need to find the number determined using the first table, below it is the month in which conception occurred. Next to it, the crosses indicate the probability of conceiving a boy or a girl: the more crosses, the higher it is.

  • Chinese calendar

The Chinese calendar, like the Japanese one, is based on many years of observations and systematization of their results. It is based on the calculation of such parameters as the location of the stars at the time of conception, the phases of the moon and others. In an adapted and simplified form it looks like this:

Online forums claim that eastern calendars are amazingly accurate. Scientists believe that accurate predictions are nothing more than random coincidences, since gender is determined not by the time of conception, but by the sperm.

By parental blood

The blood of parents, of course, plays a huge role in the formation and development of a healthy fetus. However, there are theories that it affects not only health, but also gender.

  • Blood group

According to this version, the sex of the child is determined by the blood groups of the mother and father and their combination.

Man Woman Child
I I D
II I M
III I D
IV I M
I II M
II II D
III II M
IV II D
I III D
II III M
III III M
IV III M
I IV M
II IV D
III IV M
IV IV M

The Rh factor also influences the accuracy of calculations:

Man Woman Child
- + M
+ - M
+ + D
- - D

The main question that this method raises and which casts doubt on its reliability is why the same parents give birth to children of different sexes?

  • Blood renewal

An equally controversial method of planning at home is to renew the blood. According to this theory, women's blood is renewed once every 3 years, and men's - every four years. If at the moment of conception the man’s blood is younger, a boy will be born. Accordingly, if the woman’s blood is younger, you can expect a daughter. In this case, it is necessary to take into account such events as blood transfusions, abortions, and large blood losses. If they took place, the countdown should begin from them.

Calculating the years when the blood is renewed is very simple: for a woman they are a multiple of three (18, 21, 24, and so on), and for a man, they are a multiple of four (20, 24, 28, and so on). Thus, if the future mother is 25 years old, and the future father is 27 years old, it is worth expecting a girl, because the mother’s blood renewal happened a year ago, and the father’s - three years ago.

By heartbeat

How did doctors used to determine the gender of a child without an ultrasound? Mothers and grandmothers may recall that the midwife listened to the fetal heartbeat using an obstetric stethoscope. The fetal heart begins to contract within two weeks after conception; its beats can be recorded at 7-8 weeks, and you can try to determine the sex no earlier than 12 weeks, when the organs of the reproductive system have formed in the fetus. To determine gender, pay attention to the following factors:

  1. Beat frequency: in girls, the heart beats more often (about 150 beats, while in boys it is 120-130).
  2. Rhythm: the heart muscle of boys contracts more rhythmically and louder, in girls it is more chaotic and muffled.
  3. The location of the fetus: if the heartbeats are heard on the left, they are talking about a boy, if on the right, they are talking about a girl.

Today medicine is skeptical about this technique. The characteristics of a child’s heart are not constant indicators; they depend on the mother’s health status, sleep or wakefulness, the mother’s body position at the time of diagnosis and other factors.

By menstruation

The method of determining gender by menstruation is based primarily on statistical data collected and processed by Japanese scientists. They found that the earlier a girl got her period, the more likely it was that her future children would be predominantly female.

Thus, 10 thousand mothers were interviewed. Those of them who first “met” menstruation at the age of 11-12 raise mainly girls.

Scientists have concluded that this dependence is determined by the level of estradiol: the more of it in the body, the earlier menstruation begins.

By mother's age

A method of calculation based on the age of the parents, primarily the mother. The main criterion is the parity of age and the parity of the month when conception occurred.

  1. Woman of even age (22, 24, 26 and on): conception in even months (such as February, April and others) - a daughter, conception in odd months (January, March and others) - a son.
  2. A woman of odd ages (19, 21, 23 and so on): conception in even months - a son, conception in odd months - a daughter.

According to the phases of the moon

According to the tenets of ancient Indian medicine, conception should not occur on the 11th or 13th lunar days, as well as on the full moon and new moon. To have a boy, you need to have sex on the days of the male zodiac signs - Gemini, Leo, Cancer. Female signs are Taurus, Leo and Libra.

Another theory of the connection between the phase of the moon and fertility belongs to the Czech scientist Jonas. He believed that in ancient times, when the unity of man and nature was completely harmonious, a woman’s ovulation coincided with lunar phases favorable for conception. Now this harmony has been broken, and therefore the right days have to be calculated.

According to the scientist, the most favorable phase for conception is the phase of the moon in which the expectant mother herself was born. A woman’s task is to calculate optimal fertile days, focusing both on her own ovulation and on the corresponding lunar cycle. Every 2.5 days, the Moon travels from a male to a female zodiac sign. If the fertile period falls on a male sign, you can plan a son, if on a female sign, you can plan a daughter.

According to dietary preferences

Many expectant parents are confident that planning a child of the desired gender is possible with the help of a diet that must be followed for two months before conception by both parents. Dietary recommendations are as follows:

  1. To give birth to a girl, you need to eat vegetables, dairy products, sweets, and local seasonal fruits.
  2. In order for the family to be replenished with a boy, it is worth focusing on meat, potatoes, tropical fruits, and mushrooms.

Preferences already during pregnancy are also one of the home methods for determining gender. The expectant mother is drawn to salted, smoked meat - which means she is expecting a boy. If she wants sweets, it will be a girl.

The question arises: if a woman adheres to a certain diet before conception and during pregnancy, how will this affect the health of the fetus and the expectant mother herself? For example, a meat or any protein diet in general in an effort to give birth to a boy is a rather serious blow to the kidneys, which already have a hard time while expecting a child.

Folk signs

Pregnancy is an event of great importance in the life of every woman, so the time spent waiting for a child is surrounded by many signs, including those related to gender determination. According to what signs, if you believe folk signs, can you make a forecast? Let's list the most famous among them.

  • Appearance

If a woman is expecting a girl, her appearance changes for the worse: the future coquette “takes away” her mother’s beauty. Indeed, many women become dizzy while expecting a child, but this is not the fault of the daughter, but of physiology - hormones, excess weight, swelling and other unpleasant factors that often accompany 9 months.

  • Toxicosis in the first trimester

Signs say that it is stronger in expectant mothers of boys. This is due to the fact that it is easier for the body to adapt to bearing its own likeness. Meanwhile, the mechanism of development of toxicosis is not fully understood. Hormones, the central nervous system, and other factors are “to blame” for its appearance. But science does not know about the influence of the gender of the fetus on the development of toxicosis.

  • Intrauterine behavior of the fetus.

The future bully often moves, but the princess behaves much more calmly. Medicine certainly agrees that fetal movements need to be monitored, but not to determine gender, but to assess its condition. So, too frequent movements may not indicate a boy at all, but that the baby does not have enough oxygen.

  • The shape of the abdomen in the later stages, after 28 weeks.

A sharp belly, which is not visible from the back, is a sign of a boy, a round one that seems to spread to the sides is a sign of a girl. And medicine refutes this sign: the shape of the abdomen depends only on anatomical features expectant mother, presence or absence excess weight, location of the fetus in the womb.

There are other, lesser-known ways to plan the gender of your baby:

  • in order for a boy to be born, a woman must lie with her head towards the north when conceiving, and if a couple dreams of a girl - towards the south;
  • if you make love in dry weather, a boy will be born, if it rains, a girl will be born;
  • in order for a girl to appear, you need to hide a spoon under the pillow during an act of love;
  • boys are born in cool rooms, and girls in warm ones;
  • if a husband loves his wife more than she loves him, he can expect a son.

There are not only signs, but also various funny fortune telling the gender of the child. For example, it is believed that if a pregnant woman eats bread, starting with the crust, then she is expecting a son, and if she eats bread from the crumb, then she is expecting a daughter. Fortune telling with a key is also known, which advises asking the expectant mother to take an ordinary key from the table. If she grabs the head of the key, it will be a girl, and if she grabs the tip, then it will be a boy.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with these fortune telling. But only if you don’t place high hopes on them, like signs, and treat them with humor.

Folk signs for the gender of a child

Scientific methods

Nature has designed it so that for every 100 girls in the world, approximately 105 boys are born. This is due to the fact that boys are genetically experimenters, pioneers who move the world forward, and therefore often take risks and die. Interfering with the laws of nature and influencing the sex of a child using scientific methods is a very controversial issue. However, some technologies that are used for IVF exist (they are not used in Russia).

  1. Robert Erickson's method is based on separating spermatozoa with male and female chromosomes into fractions. On the day of female ovulation, a man donates sperm, which is processed using the protein albumin. It is assumed that sperm with male chromosomes will move faster through albumin, and therefore they will end up at the bottom of the tube earlier. After this, the doctor selects the “necessary” (male or female) sperm and conducts it.
  2. Laser separation of spermatozoa. Sperms with X and Y chromosomes are separated from each other using a laser. True, the authors of the technology do not promise 100% guarantee and accuracy - for example, in the case of boys, success is only 75%, since sperm with male chromosomes, as already mentioned, have low survival rate.
  3. . The technique involves, first of all, identifying genetic diseases in the fetus and is carried out if there is reason to suspect their presence. During the diagnostic process, it is possible to determine the sex of the future fetus, but only for the purpose of informing parents: choosing a boy or a girl is prohibited in Russia.

Other studies are being conducted, but all of them cause mixed reactions from scientists, primarily for ethical reasons. One thing is clear: the main thing is not what gender the baby will be born, but his health and the attitude of his parents towards him already at the moment of conception.

It is known that the female egg contains one sex X chromosome, and male sperm there can be either an X chromosome or a different Y chromosome. If the egg is fertilized by a similar X chromosome (the so-called female chromosome), then a girl is born. If the egg is fertilized by the Y chromosome (male), then a boy is born.

Interestingly, female chromosomes are quite slow, they are even 1% heavier than the fast, small and mobile male chromosomes. But female chromosomes are more adaptable and tenacious, but male chromosomes retain “combat efficiency” only for 3 days. Knowing this, you can guess what you need time to conceive a child.

According to statistics, it is also known that:

  • Boys are more likely to be born at first births
  • The younger the parents, the more likely they are to conceive a boy (and vice versa)
  • If pregnancy occurs soon after an abortion, girls are more likely to be born
  • Children of the same age, as a rule, are of the same gender
  • If the interval between births is more than 3 years, children of the opposite sex are born

Methods for determining the sex of a child by date

The egg is ready for fertilization at the moment of ovulation and the next 12 hours when it is in the fallopian tube. This is the life limit of the egg. That's why:

  • if sexual intercourse took place 3 days or more before ovulation, the female X chromosome will most likely fertilize the egg (the alkaline environment in a woman’s reproductive tract favors female chromosomes). This means that a girl will be born.
  • if sexual intercourse occurs during ovulation or on the next day, most likely the first to reach the start, that is, the egg, will be the sprinters - the Y chromosomes (the environment in the reproductive tract changes, becomes acidic, which is more favorable for male chromosomes). This means that a boy will be born.

Forecast accuracy: 65%

The main condition for this method is the correct determination of the day of ovulation. The easiest way is to determine basal temperature. It must be measured at certain hours - from 5 to 6 or from 8 to 9 am for at least three cycles. The day when the temperature rises to 37.1 - 37.2 is the day of ovulation.

However, do not forget that the day of ovulation may change under the influence of various factors (climatic, psychological, physical...)

Early determination of the child's gender by update

Another “modern” method... abstaining from sex. It is assumed that in the case of prolonged abstinence, a man’s body produces special antibodies that suppress male chromosomes. Therefore, after a period of abstinence (at least one and a half months), female chromosomes remain in “good health”, which means there is a high probability of having a girl and vice versa.

Forecast accuracy: 25%

Accurate determination of the child's sex by blood renewal

In European countries it is promoted blood renewal method. This theory is based on the fact that the blood in a man’s body is completely renewed every 4 years, in a woman’s body – every 3 years. The child will be born of the gender whose blood was “younger” at the time of conception.

To determine this, you need to divide the total number of years of dad by 4 and the total number of years of mom by 3, and then compare the results. Whose remainder is greater, the child will be born of that gender.

Attention! If the expectant mother has a negative Rh factor, the result will be exactly the opposite.

Forecast accuracy: 51%

Determining the sex of the unborn child based on nutrition

Also known baby gender planning method with the help of diet. Moreover, both parents must follow it; it should start a month and a half before the expected conception. Scientists have developed special diets.

Future gender of the child: boy

Food should be rich in sodium and potassium. Eat potatoes, mushrooms, lentils, bananas, apricots, oranges, peaches, dates. Eliminate green salad, raw cabbage, nuts, and beans from your diet.

Future gender of the child: girl

Food should be rich in calcium and magnesium. Eat dairy products, eggplants, beets, carrots, bread, onions, nuts. Eliminate plums, bananas, currants, melons, and rice from your diet.

Forecast accuracy: 35%

Along with modern methods determining the sex of the child There are also ancient methods. Some of them are based on superstitions, but there are also methods whose correctness cannot be doubted.

Chinese horoscope for determining the gender of a child

In China, many mothers and fathers still use the famous child gender determination table, which eight centuries ago was kept in one of the temples near Beijing. The document is now at the Beijing Institute of Sciences.

To find out the gender of the baby, you need to know the mother's age at the time of conception (vertical line) and the month of conception (horizontal line). At the intersection of these two components there is a letter that will tell you what gender the child will be born.

Forecast accuracy: 90%

Methods for determining the sex of a child: IVF - pregnancy

In principle, modern medical technologies make it possible to separate male chromosomes from female ones and artificially fertilize an egg with the “right” chromosome. This technology is called ECO (in vitro fertilization ). True, in this case, it will not be possible to get pregnant without the help of doctors and modern reproductive technologies.

Prediction accuracy: 91% for boys, 75% for girls.

Child gender determination table

Designations in the table: M - boy, D - girl

Mother's age

And finally, another method - concentrate on your future child, dream about him, because the main thing is the strength of your common desire!

Signs for determining the sex of a child:

  • If you want to conceive a girl, place a wooden spoon and scissors under the mattress and a red ribbon under the pillow.
  • Eat bread crusts, then you will have a boy, but if you eat only crumbs, you will have a girl.
  • Sleep on your left side, then a girl will be born, on your right - a boy.
  • If the woman in a couple loves more, a girl will be born. On the contrary - a boy.
  • In order for a girl to be born, you need to get out of bed in the morning on your left foot; in order for a boy to be born, you need to get out of bed on your right.

Gender of the child based on the blood of the parents:

Child's gender: parents' Rh factor table

Of course, it is not possible to determine the sex of a child by the date of conception with a 100% guarantee. After all, Mother Nature herself decides who should be born - a boy or a girl. However, if you know exactly or approximately the day on which, you can use the table of the child’s sex by date of conception even before the ultrasound shows the exact answer.

Which parent determines the sex of the baby?

Let's remember the school biology course. The sex of the future human is determined by the combination of chromosomes: XX for girls, XY for boys. It is the Y chromosome that is “male”, and only the father can pass it on.

Deti.mail.ru

The sex of the baby depends entirely on the father, or rather on what set of chromosomes the sperm that fertilized the egg has.

Gender of the child and date of conception

Fact: sperm carrying the female set of chromosomes “weigh” more and move more slowly, but are more resilient and resistant to adverse conditions than theirY-brethren.

Simply put, “boy” sperm move faster and therefore get to the egg faster. However, if it took place before ovulation, they will not have time to do this, as they will die earlier. But the more stable “girls” will remain and at the decisive moment they will find themselves directly next to the egg.

Conceiving immediately on the day of ovulation and for several days after it increases the chance of conception. If sexual intercourse occurs earlier, the likelihood of having a girl is higher.

Calculation difficulties

Although the described method indeed has a scientific basis, in practice deviations occur quite often.

sputnikdetstva.ru

To plan the gender of your unborn child based on the date of conception, you must clearly know the day of ovulation. If you have been planning your pregnancy for a long time and used special tests, there will be no problems.

However, the usual calendar method, for example, can fail. This is due to the fact that even women with a regular menstrual cycle may experience minor disruptions. This can be affected by stress, climate change, colds, various health problems and even simple fatigue.

Alternative ways to find out the sex of the child

The methods given below do not have a scientific basis; they are from the field of astrology and predictions. However, since they have been used for so many centuries, perhaps they really work.

Lunar calendar

Astrologers claim that the reliability of this method reaches 95-97%. Whether to believe them or not, let everyone decide for themselves. We will simply briefly describe the essence.

Duration lunar month is 29 days - this is the period during which the Moon rotates around our planet.

Lunar calendar | onlineotvetchik.ru

It is believed that you can find out the gender of a child by the date of conception by finding out which zodiac constellation the Moon was in that day. The “masculine” signs are Gemini, Leo, Libra, Aquarius, Sagittarius and Aries, and the “feminine” signs are Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus and Virgo.

Chinese calendar

People have always sought to determine the sex of a child by the date of conception. And this is most eloquently proven by the ancient Chinese calendar, found in an ancient temple about 700 years ago (now the original is kept in the Beijing Museum).

In ancient China, it was believed that the sex of the baby depended on only two factors: the date of conception and the age of the mother.

Important: in order to calculate everything correctly, a pregnant woman needs to add 9 months to her real age. This is due to the fact that, according to tradition in the Celestial Empire, the “reference point” was not the person’s birthday, but the date of conception.

puzenush.ru

Using this calendar to calculate the gender of your child is very simple. For example, if a woman is 25 years old, 1 year must be added to her age. It is necessary to find the corresponding column with age, the month of conception of the baby (for example, March), draw straight lines and find the place where they intersect. The table indicates “M” - this month there is a higher probability of conceiving a boy.

Japanese table

The next way to determine the sex of a child by date of conception is to use the Japanese table. Japanese scientists believe that X and Y chromosomes are produced at certain periods of time. When the number of “right” sperm prevails, the chance of conceiving a child of the desired sex is higher. Unlike the Chinese calendar, this method takes into account the age of the father.

The table consists of two parts.

1. Find the number and remember the number at the intersection of the birth months of the baby’s father and mother.

puzenush.ru

2. Go to the second table and find the required number in the horizontal line, and the month of conception in the column. Depending on where there are more crosses (in the “Boy” or “Girl” column), the likelihood of conceiving a baby of the desired gender is also higher.

Calculator by date of conception

If you are too lazy to understand various tables yourself, you can use ready-made calculators.

The most popular resource of this kind on the RuNet is the site “Nyanya.ru”. Here you can calculate the sex of the child based on the date of conception using a calculator based on ancient Chinese or Japanese tables. Everything is as simple and convenient as possible: you simply enter the necessary data, press the “Calculate” button and in a matter of seconds you will receive an answer to your question.

Home » Planning » The surest way to determine the sex of a child. How to determine the sex of a child. Rating of the most reliable methods

Having seen the long-awaited 2 lines on a pregnancy test, happy future parents strive to prepare as best as possible for an amazing event - a new addition to the family. And in order to buy a dowry for the baby in advance, they are trying to determine the gender of the child, who will come into the world only in a few months. Also, the desire to find out who exactly will be born is explained by simple human curiosity. After all, the sex of the unborn child is the first question asked by relatives and friends of a pregnant woman.

But sometimes the need to find out the sex of the fetus is determined by more serious reasons than simple interest and the desire to buy things in advance for the future daughter or son. There are very dangerous genetic diseases that are inherited from generation to generation only through the female or male line. Therefore, it is very important for people who are carriers of such diseases to find out the sex of the child as early as possible.

The first ways to predict who will be born were invented thousands of years ago. It is believed that the most ancient method of determining the sex of a child in the 2nd millennium BC. developed by the inhabitants of pre-imperial China. But now expectant mothers do not need to calculate who will be born using different horoscopes and the exact or approximate date of conception. Modern medicine has effective and simple methods that allow you to determine the sex of a child in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Along with methods recognized by medicine, people also use “grandmother’s” techniques that have been proven over centuries. Future parents try to guess the sex of the child by the ratio of blood groups and Rh factors, by the date of conception, the shape of the abdomen, and even by changes in the appearance of the expectant mother. Let's consider the most effective official methods, and also get acquainted with the most popular folk ways to find out who is in the tummy.

Methods of official medicine for determining the sex of a child

For women who see two lines on a rapid test, gynecologists recommend not to delay visiting the antenatal clinic. All pregnant women are registered and scheduled examinations and tests are prescribed. These studies are aimed primarily at identifying abnormalities in the course of pregnancy and possible pathologies in the development of the fetus. However, also through these tests it is possible to determine the sex of the child at a sufficiently high level. early.

Fetal ultrasound

An ultrasound examination of the fetus is normally performed three times: the first at 11-14 weeks, the second at 20-22 weeks of pregnancy, and the third in the middle of the third trimester. Of course, the main purpose of ultrasound is not to determine the sex of the child, but to assess the viability and health of the fetus. But the ultrasound scanner shows a detailed image of the fetus on the screen, so both the doctor and the pregnant woman herself can see what gender the child is.

During the first ultrasound, it is not always possible to find out who is in the tummy. The fact is that the size of the fetus is still too small and its fingers or umbilical cord can very easily be confused with the genitals. Also, the child may turn his back to the scanner and clench his legs, and then it will be impossible to determine his gender.

But at the second planned ultrasound, you can see who will be born quite accurately. At 20 weeks, the genital organs of the fetus are already sufficiently developed and even a less experienced specialist can distinguish a boy from a girl. It is also important that at this stage the baby is very mobile and during the study he will spin around in his mother’s tummy. Therefore, the doctor will be able to fully see the child and find out his gender, size and degree of maturity of the placenta.

Maternal blood test

The study of the genome of pregnant blood is quite new, but very effective method to determine the sex of the fetus. This method can be used as early as 7 weeks of pregnancy. And according to statistics from gynecologists, the accuracy of this method is as follows:

  • When analyzed at 7 or 8 weeks - 95%
  • When analyzed at 9, 10 or 11 weeks - 97.5%
  • When analyzing at 12 weeks and later - 99%.

The essence of this method is that a small amount of so-called fetal DNA - fetal DNA - enters the venous blood of a pregnant woman. And the DNA structure of boys and girls is different. Therefore, during a genetic study of the blood of the expectant mother, a specialist will determine who exactly the woman carries under her heart. This test is absolutely safe for both the pregnant woman and the fetus. You can take it either on an empty stomach or after a meal.

Maternal urine test

Gender tests, or gender makers as they are also called, appeared relatively recently. These tests are similar in appearance and in action to rapid pregnancy tests. Since the hormonal background of expectant mothers of boys and girls is different, gender tests make it possible to determine the sex of the fetus.

To find out who is born, a pregnant woman needs to collect her first morning urine in a container. Then, using the special dispenser that comes with the kit, pour urine into the gender test and shake it for 10 seconds. After this, the maker should be put aside for 5 minutes to determine the result. If the urine turns orange, it is a girl, and if it is green, it is a boy.

It is possible to determine the sex of the child using such tests from the 8th week of pregnancy. The accuracy of this analysis, according to statistics, is about 80%. It is important that gender tests only make sense for healthy women. After all, if the expectant mother has any infectious disease or takes antibiotics, the result will be inaccurate.

Chorionic villus biopsy

Chorionic villus sampling is an analysis of placental tissue that can be performed from the 7th week of pregnancy. To obtain material for research, the doctor inserts a special thin needle into the placenta and removes a small piece of tissue. Since the DNA of the placenta and the DNA of the fetus are identical, analysis of the extracted material will allow us to determine the sex of the child with 100% accuracy.

However, chorionic villus sampling is never done out of pure curiosity. The main purpose of this analysis is to determine the presence/absence of genetic abnormalities in the fetus. Therefore, this study is carried out solely for medical reasons. This means that this test is done only when a woman is at risk of giving birth to a sick child.

Traditional ways to find out the gender of an unborn baby

Almost every nation has its own signs and ways of finding out the gender of the unborn child. The accuracy of most of these methods is not high and they can be called more entertainment than serious research. However, it is useful for expectant mothers to relax and have fun. Therefore, they may well try to determine using popular folk ways who will be born to them.

Chinese method

The Chinese gender determination chart is not yet born child was compiled around the 13th century. The original of this table is now kept in the museum, and almost every family in the Celestial Empire has copies of it. Some historians even claim that this table was developed by the best doctors of medieval China specifically for the imperial family.

According to the Chinese table, to determine the gender of the child, you need to know only two factors:

  1. How old was the woman at the time of conception?
  2. In what month was the baby conceived?

In the left vertical column of the tablet you need to find the age of the pregnant woman, and in the upper horizontal column - the month of conception. Then at the intersection point of the selected vertical and horizontal lines there will be the desired result. But it is important to remember that in the Middle Ages the Chinese calculated age not from the moment of birth, but from the date of conception. This means that to get the correct result, a woman needs to add 9 months to her passport age.

Japanese method

When determining the sex of the fetus, the Japanese took into account both the months of birth of the spouses and the month of conception. Therefore, to use the country method rising sun, you need to have 2 tables at hand at once.

In the first table, at the intersection of the lines with the birth months of a woman and a man, you need to find a number. The resulting number must be remembered, because it will be useful when working with the second table.

In the table below, you should find the month of conception in the vertical column under the number from the first tablet. The two cells in the middle of the line with the desired month indicate the ratio of the probabilities of having a boy or a girl. For example, if one X is written in both cells, the probabilities are equal. And if in one there is 1 X, and in the second there are 2, 3, 5,6, 9 or 10 X, then there is a higher probability of having a child of the gender where X is greater.

Predicting who will be born by changes in the appearance of the expectant mother

People believe that carrying a boy and a girl has different effects on the appearance of the expectant mother. The following signs indicate pregnancy with a girl:

  1. Severe toxicosis from the first weeks of pregnancy
  2. The appearance of acne and age spots on the face
  3. The appearance of stretch marks on the skin of the sides, abdomen and chest
  4. Graceful and smooth gait even in the third trimester of pregnancy.

But expectant mothers of boys, according to popular belief, experience the following changes in appearance and behavior:

  • Severe clumsiness in movements
  • Strong desire to eat salty foods
  • Swelling of the calves
  • Intensive hair growth on legs
  • Noticeable movement of the baby in the stomach from 4 months of pregnancy
  • The belly is “triangular” in shape in the later months of gestation.

Determining the sex of a child based on the date of ovulation and date of conception

Conception is the fusion of a sperm with an egg. Therefore, a woman can become pregnant only at the moment the egg is released (during ovulation). And it is believed that by comparing the dates of unprotected intercourse and the beginning of ovulation, you can find out who will be born. If sexual intercourse took place three to four days before ovulation, a girl will be born, and if the child was “made” on the day the egg was released, a boy will be born. The basis for such conclusions is the opinion that sperm with the X chromosome are more hardy and tenacious, and those with the Y chromosome are more mobile and fast.

Determining the sex of the fetus by updating the blood of the expectant mother and father

It is believed that all tissues in the human body are regularly renewed. In particular, for women, a complete blood renewal cycle is 3 years, and for men – 4 years. And some fans traditional medicine they believe that the gender of the conceived baby will be the same as the gender of the parent with “fresher” blood.

To determine the sex of a child using this method, you need to know how many full years the parents were at the time of conception. Based on the number of complete years of mom and dad, you need to calculate when they had their last blood update. And then compare who has “younger” blood.

For example, if the mother was 25 years old at the time of conception and the father was 27, the calculation is made as follows:

  • Blood renewal in the fair sex occurs every three years - at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 years, etc. 25-24=1. This means that the last time the blood of the expectant mother was renewed was a year ago.
  • Blood in men is renewed every 4 years - at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 years, etc. 27-24=3. This means that the future father’s blood was renewed 3 years ago.

Pregnancy... Such an exciting, wonderful period of experiences, dreams of the future... And also this time - who lives in mom’s tummy? This question is probably one of the first to arise for future parents as soon as they find out about pregnancy.

Although most scientists agree on the relationship between the sex of the child and the age of the pregnant woman (the older she is, the higher the probability), many couples still try to plan the birth of a son or daughter themselves.

Planning the gender of the child by ovulation date

Many married couples, even before conceiving a child, try to independently “program” his gender using scientific methods. Thus, it has long been proven that a baby’s gender is determined at the moment of conception (fertilization of an egg with a sperm). The egg has only an X chromosome, so everything depends on the sperm, or rather on the chromosome that it “brings” to it. If it was an X chromosome, expect a girl, but if it was a Y, it will be a boy.

But how can you guess the one you need in this case? This is possible only during ovulation, which usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle. Sperm that carry the Y chromosome are faster than their “colleagues” with the X chromosome, but their ability to “live” in the female genital tract is much less. If you guessed right with ovulation, you can be sure that sperm with the Y chromosome will be the first to “get” to the egg and fertilize it. And this means that you will have a boy. But if ovulation has not yet occurred during the period of conception, these sperm will die, “giving way” to sperm with an X chromosome, which are “responsible” for the birth of a girl. That is, the moment of ovulation is very important for planning the gender of the child. If you really want to, it is advisable to abstain from sexual intercourse for a couple of days before ovulation.

French diet when planning the gender of a child

A popular method of planning the sex of a child is to follow the so-called “ French diet", the main requirement of which is to consume foods containing potassium and salt if the couple wants a son, or magnesium and calcium if they want to conceive a daughter. Strict adherence to the diet is recommended for both spouses for 3 weeks before conceiving a child, after which the pregnant woman must adhere to it for another seven weeks.

Renewing the blood of spouses and determining the sex of the child based on it

A method based on calculating blood renewal in spouses is considered quite interesting. It is known that the process of blood renewal in women occurs once every 3 years. For men it takes 4 years. Following this method, it turns out that the sex of the child depends on the parent whose blood is “fresh”. If it's mom, then expect the birth of a girl, if dad - a boy.

This method is simple. Let's give an example of how to calculate the gender of a child in a married couple in which the man is 35 years old and the woman is 27:

That is, the man's blood is younger - this couple will have a son.

Gender of the child and blood type of the parents

You can determine the sex of the unborn child by the blood type of the parents, but this method is far from accurate, because many couples have children of different sexes. For this method, tables are used with the blood groups of men and women indicated vertically and horizontally, respectively. The intersection of the blood groups of the spouses “lies” the gender of the unborn child. Based on these tables, we can say the following:

  • with blood type I, both parents are expected to give birth to a girl;
  • with group I from the mother and group II from the father, expect a boy;
  • if a woman has group I, and a man has group III, there will be a girl;
  • there will be a boy with blood group I in a woman and with blood group IV in a man.

With blood type II in the expectant mother, the sign is repeated exactly the opposite (that is, the boy should start). The same thing happens when calculating blood groups III and IV - accordingly, in the first case you need to “start” with a girl, in the second with a boy.

Also, when determining the sex of the child, the Rh factor of the spouses is also taken into account. For example, if it is the same for both, you should expect the birth of a girl. If the future parents were of different rhesuses, the child would be a boy.

Determining the sex of a child using an ancient Chinese table

Since ancient times, future parents have tried to find out the gender of their unborn child. One of the simplest known methods that has come to us is, in which you just need to indicate the month the baby was conceived and the age of the mother at that moment.

Now this table is in the Beijing Institute of Sciences, but before that it lay in a crypt near Beijing for more than 700 years. Institute scientists claim that the data obtained with its help is accurate with an accuracy of 98% (almost like ultrasound).

The table consists of vertical and horizontal columns. Firstly, you need to choose your age, and secondly, the month of conception. Where they intersect will indicate the gender of your unborn child.

If you are at the stage of planning pregnancy and the gender of the child, in the table row, select your age and month, which will indicate the gender of the child you need. Then, by counting 9 months, you will get the date of conception.

Japanese table for determining the sex of a child

For this table, you need to know exactly the birth dates of both parents and the month of conception.

It is a kind of table consisting of two tables, in the first of which you need to indicate the month of birth of the father and mother and find the number at the place of their intersection, with the help of which the gender of the child will be planned. You need to remember this number and find it in the second table at the intersection with the month in which you plan to conceive. The gender of the child will be indicated in the cell at the intersection of both columns.

Amniopuncture or chorionic villus sampling

Both the first and second mean a genetic study of amniotic fluid (or chorion - tissue that is more later called the placenta). This procedure is unsafe and quite difficult because during the procedure the doctor needs to take a small sample of uterine tissue. It is not prescribed to all pregnant women in order to identify genetic disorders in the child. It is unlikely that any doctor will undertake it just to determine the sex of the baby.

Blood test of the expectant mother

This method is called the most accurate when determining the sex of a child, because a woman’s blood contains fetal DNA from the early stages of pregnancy. So, if Y chromosomes are detected in it, it can be said that a boy will be born. If they don’t come, wait for a girl. But it is worth noting that, despite all the accuracy of the method, it is very expensive and not affordable for every family.

Determining the sex of a child using ultrasound

It’s possible in the second trimester of pregnancy, and only on the condition that he doesn’t decide to play pranks and turns his butt towards you. The accuracy of determining the child’s gender largely depends on the duration of pregnancy and the experience of the doctor. According to experts, the most accurate identification of the baby’s sex is possible from the 15th week of pregnancy.

Folk signs when determining the sex of a child

Or you can try to “solve” this “problem” with a smile, trusting the centuries-old observations of our ancestors. Here are some of them:

  • if the expectant mother, who is heavily pregnant, has a preserved waist (when you look at her from behind), a boy will be born;
  • Boys are more active in the womb;
  • women suffering from toxicosis are more likely to give birth to girls;
  • if a pregnant woman is constantly craving sweets, she will be a girl, if she is craving meat, she will be a boy;
  • the shorter the interval between births, the higher the likelihood of having a child of a different sex;
  • with a round belly, like a ball, that grows forward and is slightly pointed, you will have a son;
  • when expecting a girl, the belly becomes spherical, round and wide;
  • if pregnancy has not changed your appearance, this is also for a boy (after all, according to popular wisdom, a girl takes away her mother’s beauty. By the way, it should be noted that many doctors agree with this belief).

You can use one of the above methods to determine the gender of the child (or take all the proposed “tests”). You can completely trust the results of ultrasound, which is also sometimes wrong. And you can compare all the results obtained using various methods and tables with ultrasound indicators and draw your own conclusions, which may be needed when planning your next pregnancy. But it would be best to calmly wait for the birth of the child, because, you must agree, the main thing is not to become a child, but to ensure that he is healthy.

Especially for Anna Zhirko

As soon as a woman finds out about pregnancy, she begins to be interested in the question - who will be born, a boy or a girl?

Parents come up with a name for the baby in advance, and closer to the birth they buy the necessary things: a stroller, diapers, baby vests and rompers in the appropriate colors.

I wonder if there are reliable methods to determine the sex of a baby at the beginning of pregnancy?

Scientific methods for determining the sex of an unborn child

There are several medical methods that allow you to accurately determine the sex of a child. But not all are recommended without sufficient evidence.

The main medical methods for determining the sex of an unborn child include: ultrasound, genetic blood test,.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound diagnostics is currently performed for every pregnant woman. The technique is absolutely safe and has no side effects. The indication for examination is not only the mother’s curiosity.

Ultrasound helps identify possible abnormalities throughout pregnancy.

At what age can the gender of a child be determined using ultrasound?

The accuracy of the result increases starting from 21 weeks, when the child’s genitals are already fully formed. At week 12, the forecast accuracy is 50%.

However, the possibility of error exists even in later stages, since the baby may close its legs, covering the genitals.

During multiple pregnancies, children may also cover each other, preventing the gender from being seen. The likelihood of error is significantly reduced if the clinic is equipped.

Chorionic villus biopsy

This method also allows you to determine the sex of the child at an early stage. This method is used only in cases of a high risk of chromosomal abnormalities, late births, or the birth of children in this couple with pathologies caused by other reasons.

During diagnosis, a special catheter is inserted through the abdominal wall or vagina into the space of the amniotic sac and part of the amniotic fluid with chorionic villi is taken.

However, this procedure is carried out only according to strict indications. It has a number of disadvantages.

Outside interference can cause a miscarriage or infect the fetus. Therefore, to satisfy curiosity, chorionic villus biopsy is not used.

Amniocentesis

During the manipulation, it is necessary to pierce the amniotic sac and take a small volume of fluid for examination.

Amniocentesis is recommended at 16-18 weeks to detect genetic disorders, such as Down or Hunter syndrome, in cases where the mother is diagnosed with hemophilia, if the parents have Tay-Sachs disease.

It is considered quite dangerous, since, despite ultrasound control, an insufficiently qualified doctor can touch vital areas of the fetus with a needle and negatively affect the development of the child.

In addition, there is a high risk of infection of the fertilized egg.

During the study, you can find out the gender of the baby with 100% accuracy.

Cordocentesis

Unlike the previous method, blood is taken from the fetal umbilical cord for analysis by piercing the walls of the abdomen and uterus with a special needle.

The information content is very high and makes it possible to identify genetic disorders in the development of the fetus, as well as its gender.

Complications of the analysis may include hematomas, short-term bleeding in the puncture area, and a slight risk of infection of the embryo and spontaneous abortion.

In private, in the absence of the necessary indications, the analysis can be performed for a fee. Its cost is approximately 1.5 times lower than amniocentesis.

Determining sex by maternal blood test

The method is based on detecting the concentration of fetal DNA and gives a positive result in 90-95% of cases.

In the future, the accuracy of the forecast increases, since as the fetus develops, the level of DNA containing the Y chromosome increases if a boy is expected.

Since the maternal and fetal circulatory systems are connected, Y chromosomes will be detected by routinely collecting and further testing a sample of the mother's blood. At what week can you determine the sex of a baby using this method?

However, you can donate blood earlier - at 7 or 8 weeks of pregnancy. However, in this case the results may be questionable.

The method of genetically determining the sex of a child is absolutely safe and has no side effects.

The analysis of a maternal blood sample has been used since 2007 and has already proven its effectiveness in practice.

Despite the possibility of determining the sex of a child using medical diagnostic methods, many parents continue to use pseudo-scientific methods, arguing that in most cases the predictions are justified.

Pseudo-scientific methods

Official medicine refutes the reliability of such methods. However, they are popular among the people because they allow you to determine the sex of the child without an ultrasound.

Chinese calendar

It is believed to have existed for several thousand years. Knowing the age of the mother and the month in which conception occurred, you can use the table to determine the sex of the baby. In addition, the method allows you to plan the birth of a child of the desired sex.

Japanese table

This method became known relatively recently. They say that Japanese scientists had a hand in its creation. To do this, you need to know in what months the parents were born.

Using the first table, find out the number at the intersection of these months. By substituting the number in the second table, you can find out in which months there is a high chance of conceiving a boy or a girl. Knowing the month of conception, it is easy to determine what gender the baby will be born.

Women who have used the Japanese table claim that its effectiveness is about 80%.

Freiman-Dobrotin method

The technique is based on the use of 12 tables compiled by M. Freiman. The method was tested in practice. Professor S. Dobrotin, who checked the tables, claimed that the forecasts come true in 99% of cases.

Unlike other methods, it has not gained wide popularity, as it seems quite complicated.

To obtain the result, it is necessary to determine the day of conception with maximum accuracy and then work to determine the sex of the child using several tables.

Currently, many websites use simplified schemes that allow you to determine the gender of a child based on the age of the parents. But these schemes are based on the Freiman-Dobrotin method.

Although the technique is considered pseudo-scientific, before the advent of ultrasound, it was this method that obstetricians resorted to when determining the sex of the baby.

It has been established that at 12-14 weeks the heartbeat of a boy and a girl differ slightly in frequency. In boys, the number of heartbeats does not exceed 140 per minute, in girls the figure is higher.

Blood renewal technique

You can determine the sex of the child. The method is based on the theory that every 4 years in men and 3 years in women, the blood is completely renewed. To determine who will be born, it is enough to divide the age of the mother by 3 and the age of the father by 4.

If the mother gets a smaller number when dividing, we should expect the birth of a girl, if the father is likely to have a boy.

How to determine the sex of a child by the last menstruation

This method was especially popular in past centuries, when there was no ultrasound diagnostics. First you need to determine in which month conception occurred (for example, January - 1, June - 6, etc.).

Then add this number with age, not the moment of conception. Add one to the resulting amount. If the resulting number is even, then you should expect a girl, if not, then a boy.

Blood group compatibility

The theory, based on, states that the blood types of parents have a significant impact on the gender of the unborn baby. For example, if both parents have blood of the first group, a girl will be born. If mom has type 3 blood and dad has type 2, you should expect a boy. The Rh factor also has an effect.

Doubts are raised by the fact that a couple will always have children of the same sex, since the blood type does not change throughout life.

In practice, the method of determining the sex of a child based on the blood type of the parents does not work well, since the same parents have children of different sexes.

Budyansky method

is a calendar and is based on the developments of Johns Hopkins University. It turns out that eggs are capable of releasing chemicals, the aroma of which attracts sperm.

Moreover, their “taste preferences” are different depending on the presence of X or Y chromosomes. Accordingly, it is possible to reproduce the aroma and ensure the birth of a baby of the desired gender.

Unfortunately, American scientists were unable to bring the development to its logical conclusion. However, the Budyansky couple took advantage of their idea, creating a calendar by which a woman with a regular menstrual cycle can determine when the substances produced by the egg attract sperm with X chromosomes, and when with Y.

If a woman has her own even menstrual cycle, then she can conceive a girl only in even cycles, and a boy only in odd cycles. And vice versa.

Even and odd cycles are determined from the table.

What if all the methods used to determine the sex of a baby show different results? In this case, it is worth holding off on choosing a name, as well as purchasing the necessary things. And don’t be upset that it’s impossible to determine in advance whether to expect a boy or a girl. Let this be a pleasant surprise!

Without a doubt, waiting for a baby is the most exciting time and often parents want to know in advance whether they are having a boy or a girl. Of course, there is an ultrasound method, which is both the safest and most accurate way to determine the sex of a child. However, he is not always able to help.

Firstly, mom and dad will have to wait until the 15th week of pregnancy. Before this date, an ultrasound simply will not show anything. Secondly, there are especially shy kids who disguise themselves and turn their backs until the last moment. In such situations, it is quite possible to try to find out the sex of the child without an ultrasound.

Whether you have a boy or a girl depends on one single factor - the chromosome carried by the sperm that fertilizes the egg. If he carries an X chromosome, it means a girl will be born, if Y, it means a boy. There is no way to program this in advance, provided that conception does not occur using an extracorporeal method. It is also impossible to influence the sex of the baby after conception.

Folk signs

The easiest way to determine the sex of a child without an ultrasound is using various folk signs. Of course, none of these signs, and even all of them together, are capable of giving a 100% guaranteed result, but still their reliability is quite high. They are connected with both mom and dad, and also with taste preferences, character, mood and even the fullness of hair.

Signs associated with mother

In order to find out the gender of the unborn baby, you need to pay attention to the shape of the abdomen, the mother’s mood and how exactly the pregnancy is progressing. Thus, it was noticed that:

  • Young women who are pregnant for the first time are more likely to have boys, but women over 30 are more likely to have girls.
  • If during pregnancy the tummy is round in shape, protrudes from the sides and hides the waist, it means that a girl will be born. If, on the contrary, it protrudes forward, then a boy will be born.
  • If the first three months are the most difficult, with severe toxicosis and poor health, expect a girl.
  • The baby pushed you from the left for the first time, which means it's a boy.
  • If in the early stages of pregnancy you start to feel cold, the baby will be a girl; on the contrary, if you feel hot, it means the baby will be a boy.
  • Mom's appearance has changed better side, which means a boy will be born.
  • If mother loves to sleep on her right side, a girl will be born.
  • The main place in the diet began to be occupied by meat in all its forms - expect a boy. Mothers carrying girls tend to prefer sweets, dairy products and fruits.
  • Mom stays in in a great mood and gladly demonstrates to everyone around him his changed state; most likely, a boy will be born. Hides until the last moment? Wait for the girl.

Signs associated with dad

However, the signs with which you can find out the gender of the future baby are associated not only with mom, but also with dad. Although there are much fewer of them. It is believed that:

  • Men with receding hairlines or completely bald are more likely to have boys.
  • If the stronger half of the family prefers loose underwear, then most likely such a couple will have a girl.
  • If the spouse is at least 10 years older than his wife, then the first child will be a boy.

By parental blood

Folk omens are far from the only way to determine the sex of a child without an ultrasound. There are methods based on the characteristics of the parents’ blood, or more precisely, on its Rh factor and the cyclicity of renewal. Of course, they do not have guaranteed accuracy, but in combination with other signs they can give a result exceeding 50%.

By update date

The blood is periodically renewed in every person, but the period of this renewal is different for men and women. According to the theory of blood renewal, the spouses will give birth to a baby of the gender whose blood on the day of conception is younger, and therefore stronger. Finding this out is quite simple, using ordinary mathematics.

For men, the renewal process takes four years and three for women. Therefore, a man's age should be divided by four, and a woman's by three. Whichever number is lower, the blood of that spouse is younger. For example, the age of the spouse is 27 years old, and the wife is 25. We divide 27 by four, and 25 by three. We get the result for dad 6.75, and for mom 8.3. Only the last digit is taken into account, that is, 5 and 3. The dad has a larger remainder, which means his blood is younger and stronger and this hypothetical couple will have a boy.

When using such calculations, one should take into account blood renewal, which may occur in the case of donation or large blood loss, for example, after injury or during surgery.

In this case, the calculation should be made not from the date of birth, but from the date of blood donation or surgery or any other situation that led to blood loss. If after dividing the results are the same, then you may have twins.

By Rh factor

Most people have heard about the Rh factor at least once in their lives. Its determination is one of the main tests that are prescribed to a pregnant woman when registering for consultation. They do this in order to identify Rh conflict as early as possible and avoid complications associated with it. The Rh factor is a special protein that is found on the surface of red blood cells. If it is, then the blood is considered Rh-positive, and if not, then it is Rh-negative.

It is believed that the presence or absence of this protein in parents will help determine whether they will have a girl or a boy. So, if the mother’s Rh is positive, a boy will be born if the father’s is negative, and a girl if this indicator is positive. If the mother's Rh factor is negative, then, with the same Rh factor in the father, a boy will be born, and a girl will be born if the father is positive.

By date of conception

Methods for determining the date of conception are deservedly popular and can boast a fairly high, almost 80%, degree of reliability. There are three variations of this method, based on the month in which conception occurred and the age of the father and mother. Using these methods, you can not only try to find out the gender of an unborn baby, but also plan for it in the future by choosing a specific date for conception.

Chinese table

According to legend, this table was created a thousand years ago by Chinese scientists, and modern archaeologists discovered it during excavations of a temple in Beijing, at the grave of one of the emperors. However, it later turned out that this is nothing more than a legend, and the table itself is based on the calendar that is used in China today and is quite modern. Nevertheless, she is quite capable of telling the gender of your baby.

The table itself is a box lined with squares, the vertical axis of which indicates the mother’s age, and the horizontal axis indicates the month of conception. To find out who you will have in a few months, just find the desired cell at the intersection of these two values.

Vanga table

Created by Lyudmila Kim, one of the students of the famous prophetess, this table almost completely replicates that developed by Chinese scientists. They even look similar in appearance. The only difference is that Vanga's table is not based on lunar calendar, so popular in China, but in the usual way, familiar to us. Just like in the Chinese table, in order to find out if you are having a girl or a boy, you need to find the box at the intersection of the column indicating the mother’s age and the day of conception.

Japanese table

Another similar method to find out which chromosomes were found at the moment of conception is the Japanese sex determination table. This method already includes two tables that help determine a special code number, which will show who will be born to you. Unlike the Chinese method, this method of calculation was developed by Japanese scientists relatively recently.

The first table takes into account the month of birth of the father, indicated horizontally, and the mother, indicated vertically. The number located at the intersection of these two parameters will be the treasured code number. Having recognized it, you can open the second table, where, in addition to the number, the month in which the long-awaited event occurred is indicated vertically. The intersection point will indicate the sex of the child.

In order to get the most reliable result using tables, you need to know exactly the time of conception.

Determination by date of ovulation

Not every day of the month is suitable for fertilizing an egg. The likelihood that such an event will occur is maximum only on the days of ovulation. After the new egg leaves the follicle in abdominal cavity she will live for a maximum of three days. In contrast, the lifespan of sperm depends on which chromosome they carry.

Scientists have found that those with a Y chromosome live shorter lives, but are faster in movement. Therefore, if sex happened on the days of ovulation, a boy will be born, since the lighter sperm will reach the egg faster. And if several days have passed after ovulation, then, most likely, the more tenacious X-sperm will fertilize the egg.

What does science say?

Until the beginning of the 21st century, medicine could only offer an ultrasound method for determining the sex of the unborn baby. It was only in 2007 that scientists managed to create the first test to answer this question. It is designed in the same way as a conventional pregnancy test, and the accuracy of the results is 90%. The essence of the determination method is based on the fact that from a certain period of development, the baby’s sex hormones begin to be released into the woman’s urine, to which he reacts. This determination can be made starting from the eighth week of pregnancy.

Don't take any of the above methods too seriously. After all, even ultrasound and modern tests can make mistakes. Who exactly will appear in your family, you will find out for sure only on his birthday.
