That is why we have prepared this article. In it, we present a detailed step by step instructions, which will allow you to execute the desired design correctly and with pleasure.

Preparatory stage

Every lady who decided to decorate her hands with a French manicure should first of all treat her nails.

It's very easy to do this:

  1. First you need to select the desired form. The ideal option for a jacket is "oval" and "square". But there are also options with "pointe shoes" and "claws".
  2. Then you should adjust the length. Experts say that French gel polishes can be performed both on natural nail plates and on extended ones. However, to create a classic version, the latter should be as natural as possible. But a colored French manicure can be done even on very long and clearly unnatural nails.
  3. Next, you need to remove the cuticle in any convenient way.
  4. And finally, polish the nail plate with a special tool.

  • clinser - liquid for removing stickiness;
  • a napkin without lint;
  • ultraviolet lamp.

Classic French Manicure Technique

As we wrote earlier, the design under study is not difficult and does not differ too much from nail art made with ordinary varnishes. Nevertheless, there are still some differences. Next, we will consider the step-by-step technology of the traditional jacket in order to explain the features of gel nail art to the reader in more detail.

So let's get started:

After all, the technology is almost the same as the one we explained earlier. And then the reader will be able to verify this. Color french gel polishes are carried out as follows:

  1. The first step is to choose a design.
  2. Then the corresponding varnishes are prepared.
  3. Next, the nail plate is covered with a base.
  4. And it dries for half a minute under the lamp.

How to make a reverse french

Recently gained popularity new technology manicure. Its name, indicated in the title of the current item, is often used by professional craftsmen. But beginners or amateurs who are familiar with gel manicure only in general terms prefer something else. In this case, we are talking about a moon manicure. It is quite easy to do it at home. But the reverse French gel polish will look very impressive, stylish and fashionable. The main thing is not to be afraid to try out new technology.

It consists in the following actions:

  1. First you need to prepare varnishes of the desired shades. For the classic version of the manicure, light pink varnish and white are required; for color shades, you can choose arbitrary ones, that is, those that appeal to a particular person.
  2. Lunar design is also done using special stencils or a thin brush. Experienced craftsmen use the second tool, because they have sufficient skill. For beginners, it is better to start from the first one in order to ensure the clarity and accuracy of nail art.

When everything you need is ready, we proceed to the actions - the implementation of the reverse jacket with gel polishes at home:

  1. After applying and drying the base, cover the nail plates with varnish of the main color. For the traditional version - transparent or pink, for color - any other.
  2. We fix the manicure under the lamp for three minutes.
  3. Then, at the base of the nail with a thin brush, draw a “smile” or draw a nail plate using special stencils.
  4. Dry the resulting design under the lamp for three minutes.
  5. And we complete the work by applying the top, drying for two minutes and removing the stickiness with a clinser.

French ombre manicure

Many young ladies do not want to perform a classic French manicure with gel polish on natural nails or extensions. Since the traditional design seems rather boring and mundane. And then professional craftsmen offer an original and very gentle version of the design being studied. You can get acquainted with it thanks to the presented photo. If the reader also liked the manicure, then we offer detailed step-by-step instructions:

  1. The technology begins with the processing of marigolds.
  2. Then follows the application and drying of the base.
  3. For the execution of the gradient, a special brush for stretching is required. Moreover, it is important to draw the reader's attention to the fact that a design with ordinary varnishes can be made with a sponge, but a gel one is not even worth trying.
  4. When the desired tool is ready, visually divide the nail plate into two parts.
  5. On the area at the base of the nail, apply a transparent varnish or light pink, and on the tip - white. The main thing is that the colors are located as close to each other as possible.
  6. After that, we take a brush and gently smear, stretch the shades, gradually mixing them and erasing a hard border.
  7. This step is completed when the young lady reaches the desired nail art result.
  8. Then the nails are fixed under the lamp.
  9. Covered with top and dried again.
  10. Finally, it remains only to remove stickiness with the help of a clinser.

French manicure with foil

Another original version of the technology under study involves the implementation of a brilliant jacket on nails with gel polishes. For execution, you should prepare any basic shade, an apricot stick for manicure, special foil for nail art and glue. When everything you need is ready and at hand, you can proceed to the actions:

  1. First, the nails are polished.
  2. Then covered with a base and dried.
  3. Next, they should be painted with a base tone varnish. It can be transparent, light pink or any bright.
  4. It also needs to be fixed in ultraviolet light.
  5. And only then proceed to the application of foil. To do this is quite simple. But first of all, it is necessary to apply glue to the tip of the nail so as to outline the main detail of the jacket.
  6. We apply the foil to the nail plate and gently straighten it with a stick.
  7. Then pull sharply.
  8. We cover the design with a top, dry and get rid of stickiness.

Unusual color french

We are used to the fact that French manicure involves a perfectly even line of "smile" and a certain rigor of design. However, leading masters offer several spectacular options that differ significantly from the classic jacket. In the video below, you can explore the technology of one of these great ideas.

Summer french gel polish

Various designs, including the image of fruits and berries, are becoming more and more popular every year. However, summer is the season when such types of manicure become especially relevant. To perform them with ordinary varnishes, you will have to spend a lot of time and effort. But a similar procedure with the gel will be completed quickly enough and will bring a lot of pleasure.

Fashionable black jacket

Another popular trend of the current season is the inversion of the traditional manicure. This design looks very stylish, impressive and unusual. Making it at home is easy. Especially if you prepare a special matting top.

First of all, the nail plates are adjusted and covered with a base, which is then dried under a lamp. The second step is to apply a matte varnish if you plan to work with black and glossy varnish. Or glossy if a matte top is available (should be applied after drying). Next, the nails are fixed in ultraviolet light and complemented with a glossy “smile”. The manicure is dried again, but the top is no longer applied. Otherwise, it will not be possible to achieve the desired version of the jacket, the gel polish coating will be damaged. Don't be afraid to experiment!

How to make French gel polish at home is best shown by video instructions and manuals, but women still have a lot of questions about this type of manicure. What steps should be followed so that the French manicure on the nails is a stylish decoration for a long time?

The choice of shellac for a jacket as the main coating is due to a number of advantages. With careful treatment, the varnish is kept in good condition for up to a month, while not losing its brightness and saturation. The coating dries only under the influence of ultraviolet light, so when applying the product, you can easily adjust the manicure.

Interesting! Gel polish protects the nail plate from external negative factors, however, with prolonged wear, the coating itself harms the nails.

The disadvantages include the need for special equipment and materials, but now they are all readily available for purchase.

What is required for a manicure?

To make a French manicure perfect in all respects with gel polish, you will need to prepare in advance. You need to purchase the following tools and supplies:

  1. UV lamp.
  2. Degreaser. You can also use a simple nail polish remover that contains acetone.
  3. Nail file (buff). You need a soft nail file, it will polish the nail plate and not completely destroy the top layer.
  4. Base coat for gel polish. It protects the nail from the gel polish itself and masks all the irregularities of the nail plate for a perfect manicure.
  5. Two gel polishes of the desired shade.
  6. Top coat or fixer. Thanks to him, the manicure remains bright throughout the entire time.
  7. Special brush or adhesive strips for French. With their help, making a classic pattern on the nails will be much easier.

Tools will require much more than for ordinary varnish, but they will be used for a long time and will justify their cost.

Advice! When choosing gel polish, it is better to opt for more natural and safe formulations.

Nail preparation for manicure

Before applying varnish, nails should be well prepared. The durability and appearance of the manicure depends on this stage.

To soften the cuticle, the skin needs to be steamed, for this you should immerse your hands in warm water for 10-15 minutes. You can add various essential oils and natural herbal teas. After, pushing the cuticle with an orange stick, remove it with a special cutting manicure device. This should be done gently so as not to damage the skin.

With a soft nail file, you need to grind off the top layer of the nail a little, make it rough, for better adhesion to the base coat. With a regular nail file, give your nails any desired shape. Then degrease the surface of the nail, and you can proceed to the next step.

Manicure

After preparing the nails for manicure, you should apply a gel polish base on the nail, thanks to which the coating will be more securely adhered to the nail. The coating should not get on the skin, all excess must be wiped off.

Important! After application, the nails are dried under a UV lamp for about a minute. Drying time depends on lamp power.

Classic French manicure is done using natural colors: pink, beige, light pink, it is possible to use brighter shades.

The layer should be thin, like the base coat. You should also be careful not to get on the skin. Keep under ultraviolet rays for about 2-3 minutes.

most important and tricky step- drawing holes. You can draw them by hand, or you can use special stencils glued to the nail, with them, of course, it will be much easier. Just like with the previous layer, the color of the varnish can be chosen at your own discretion.

Drawing such a smile is difficult at first if a brush is used, but the advantage of shellac is that it can be easily adjusted without spoiling the layer below. If it turns out not very smoothly and a small defect appears in the process, you can always use cotton swab and degreaser to fix everything. It dries, like the main color, under a UV lamp. For greater color brilliance, an additional layer of coating can be applied, fixing it under ultraviolet light.

All that remains is to fix the manicure with a top. So the coating will last longer. The fixative is dried under ultraviolet rays. There are several types of fixatives, but recently matte effect products have become increasingly popular. The whole process of applying a French manicure on short nails presented step by step in the video.

At the end of the procedure, you need to remove with a cotton pad dipped in a degreaser sticky layer and moisturize your cuticles. This is done with a moisturizer, a special tool for cuticles or various oils.

Especially on short nails, a Hollywood or moon jacket looks great. This is one of the most common types of French manicure. In it, not the edge of the nail is covered with white or colored varnish, but a white hole at its base.

Interesting! Many people think that it is not easy to make a beautiful French manicure on short nails on them, but the jacket was created as a manicure for short nails.

Gel polish removal

After a few weeks, the gel polish can still stay on the nails, but it will lose its well-groomed appearance, besides, the nails grow back, which does not increase the beauty of the manicure. Then there is the question of removing the coating, which causes a panic attack for many. But you can cope with gel polish without salons.

Advice! Experts do not advise keeping gel polish on nails for more than 3 weeks, the nail plate begins to deteriorate and dry out.

How to remove gel polish step by step:

  1. The nail file removes the glossy coating, that is, the layer with the fixative is removed.
  2. Soak a cotton pad in a degreaser or in a special gel polish remover.
  3. Fix the cotton pad so that it covers the entire nail. Wrap the entire nail with foil for 15-20 minutes. After the varnish softens, the foil can be removed.
  4. The softened coating is easy to remove from the nail with a special manicure spatula or orange stick.
  5. Cover with a strengthening agent for nails and cuticles.

Gel polish can only be removed in this way, in no case should it be peeled off, along with the varnish, the top layer of the nail plate is also damaged.

How to keep a jacket for a long time?

Applying gel polish takes a lot of time and you want it to stay on your nails for as long as possible, for this you need to follow some rules.

The main thing is not to harm natural nails. Simple tips will help extend the life of the jacket:

  1. The materials must be of high quality, almost everything depends on them.
  2. Good products are not cheap, but they will last a long time and will only have a positive effect on nails.
  3. Keep the coating under the lamps exactly as long as indicated on the bottle, the time may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. It is also worth adjusting the duration of UV exposure depending on the power of the lamp.
  4. All layers must be applied to the cut of the nail in order to better fix it.
  5. Apply varnish in a thin layer. It is better to make several layers for greater color saturation than one thicker one.

In the price list of any beauty salon, you can find such a service as a French manicure. It is relatively expensive, but what sacrifices will you not make for the sake of beauty on the handles? Of course, it seems that it is almost impossible to evenly draw a French manicure at home along the contour at home. On short nails, the process is more difficult, since the limited capabilities of the plate always force the newly minted master to jewelry accuracy. But with our advice, everything will go like clockwork:

  • put the nails in order, acting according to the established scheme: cut the length, correct the shape, remove the cuticle and polish the surface with a buff;
  • apply a thin layer of the base, waiting for it to dry;
  • apply the main camouflage coating, preferring a pale pink or beige varnish, dry it;
  • if the intended design is with stickers, then simply place the stencil and paint over the space with white paint;
  • if you have chosen the manual method of drawing with a brush, then do not take the border too far from the edge, this visually "eats" the length;
  • Finish off with a clear coat of top coat and oil to hydrate and slow cuticle growth.

  • let each layer dry. Patience and only patience;
  • in order to create a funny pattern that complements the jacket, it is not at all necessary to buy dots. It can be easily replaced by an ordinary ballpoint pen;

If you give your preference to practicality and always want to stand out elegant appearance, then the choice of manicure will most likely be made in favor of the unchanged classics of manicure, namely French. Speaking about who this design would suit, it is impossible to define any framework, because it is he who always turns out to be “out of place” whether it is daily work in the office or some solemn event. Especially he fell in love with the brides.

What is french manicure

First of all, this is a universal design option that looks amazing on nails of any length. It creates a complete image and is suitable for the fair sex with any type of appearance, in addition, thanks to it, your hands will always look well-groomed.

All attention in this technique is paid to the tip of the finger, unlike its mirror brother. moon manicure. The edge of the nail plate with a French design is usually highlighted with a snow-white color gel polish. If you are interested in non-standard solutions, then the edge can be highlighted in any desired color.

Sometimes even masters combine several at once and draw them in separate clear lines. As for the main color of the nail, it is best to pay attention to pastel shades or delicate translucent tones that will look perfect in contrast with a colored smile at the tip.

Why is it better to do a French manicure with gel polish?

With the advent of gel design, the life of women has become much easier. Its main advantage is its practicality, because the average period of wearing such nails is at least two weeks. As for the gel polish when working on a French manicure, then of course you will spend a little more time on work, about two hours. But, at the same time, you will reduce the time for daily adjustment of cracked varnish. Gel varnishes of light shades have their own specifics when worn:

  • Firstly, because of their consistency, they are not homogeneous and lie unevenly;
  • Secondly, they crack and this is very noticeable on light shades.

The duration of wear, such a design varies from two weeks to a month, and plus the fact that this is not noticeable when the nails grow back. But, if we compare gels with ordinary varnishes, then the advantage in socks becomes obvious.

Necessary tools for French manicure

Due to the fact that the smile of the main pattern in the jacket should be clearly defined and, most importantly, neat, you will need a little more material than with regular work with gel polishes.

Let's list all the necessary materials again:

  • UV lamp;
  • Manicure set;
  • buff;
  • Primer or degreaser;
  • Base and top coat;
  • Gel polish pastel shade (transparent is also suitable);
  • Contrasting color of the gel to draw a smile (in the classic version of the jacket, give your preference to snow-white);
  • orange stick;
  • Napkins without lint;
  • Nail polish remover;
  • French stencils;
  • Thin brush for patterns.

You can buy all these simple devices in specialized stores for nail industry specialists.

Step-by-step instructions for performing a French manicure with gel polish

First, be sure to prepare your nails for the upcoming work. To do this, carefully treat the nails and remove the cuticle. At the preparation stage, do not forget to give the nails the desired shape and remove dead skin particles around the nail bed. After this stage in the work is completed, we proceed directly to the design of the design:

1. Align the nail plate with a buff and treat with a degreaser;

2. Now apply a layer of base coat and dry it in the lamp;

3. We cover the nail base color and also dry in the lamp. It may take more than one application, each of which must be dried in turn;

4. We draw a smile line using a stencil or a thin brush, then, making sure that they are even, dry them in an ultraviolet lamp;

5. Apply a top coat and dry the nails for a few more minutes;

6. Now it remains for us to remove the sticky layer with nail polish remover and without a lint-free cloth;

7. All your French manicure is ready.

As you can see, the work is not difficult and the girl will cope with it even without special professional training. Difficulty may arise when applying the gel to right hand or left, depending on what kind of leader you have. It will take a little longer to tinker with it, but with careful and careful work you will succeed.

What gel polish to choose for a jacket.

The main rule when choosing a material for work is, of course, its quality. As for your choice when choosing a colored gel polish for a French manicure, in fact, as for any other design, then pay attention to the following:

  • Dense and rich color that fits well in a maximum of two layers. Otherwise, when doing work, you may have bald spots and a non-uniform shade;
  • Gel polish should not be very liquid, but thick is also not suitable. As a rule, they lay down in several layers and cause pigmentation. And also, nails under such a gel will form a tubercle and will soon cause detachment.

Most the best option for the nail substrate, choose a gel polish of a delicate shade that best suits your natural color of the nail plate.

Many masters use gel paint or regular paint to draw a smile. acrylic paint. Since, its shade is much brighter than a regular gel and lends itself better to work, laying down in a thin and even layer.

What brush to choose for french manicure

So, we have already found out that it will not be difficult to work with this design. However, this will require accuracy and perseverance. Of course, you can use a stencil, but the masters highlight their impracticality and the fact that it is not always possible to get the desired shape of a smile. This is where the brush comes in to help you draw the design.

The correct brush should be as thin and long as possible, with its help you draw a fine line between the main color and the pattern. In order to paint over the tip of the nail in a uniform color, it is not suitable and you will need to buy the most ordinary brush for gels, you can also use a brush from a bottle of varnish. Before you get the perfect line, you have to practice to get your hand on, so to speak. This can be done on special tips or just on a piece of paper, this is necessary so that you can calculate the pressure and get used to working with a thin brush.

Such a tool will also come in handy for subsequent work with gel polishes, it is with its help that masters in salons make a drawing of any complexity.

When choosing a brush, pay attention to the fact that it should be soft and perfectly even. If uneven villi stick out on it, then they will interfere with drawing and making blots.

French manicure gel polish at home

As always, we bring our beautiful hands in order to make the manicure look more well-groomed and neat:

  • take a cuticle agent and evenly distribute around the nail plate. Thanks to this tool, the skin is well moisturized and the cuticle is quickly softened.
  • then gently push back the cuticle with an orange stick
  • with a nail file (medium hardness) we make the necessary shape for the nails (oval, square or round)
  • with the help of a buff, we begin to grind the nail plates to remove the protective layer (this is necessary for better adhesion of the gel with natural material)
  • after we take lint-free wipes, dip in a degreaser and process the nails. Try not to touch anything after this stage so that dust and other particles do not remain on the nails. Your further manicure and its strength will depend on this.

Note: you can also use a regular hand bath with soap or alcohol instead of a degreaser. It is not recommended to use cotton pads or cotton wool. Now we begin to do gel polish for a French manicure in stages.

Step 1. We cover all the nails with a primer (so that the gel adheres well to the natural plate) and wait until it dries (you do not need to use a UV lamp). In addition, the tool still well strengthens the structure of the nail and prevents delamination. Note: the primer is allowed to be applied 1-2 minutes after degreasing the nails.

Step 2 Apply a thin layer of base coat and evenly distribute over the nail plate. So that the varnish does not peel off, we apply the base on the ends of the nails. We dry under a UV lamp for up to 40 seconds (maybe more, it all depends on the power of your lamp).

Step 3 Next, we take our selected base color of the gel polish and distribute it in a thin layer over the nail plate. Substitute under a UV lamp for 2 minutes. If you think that the shade looks dull, then apply another layer.

Step 4 Now the main part. There are two ways to make a “smile” on the nails: using a stencil (just glue the strips and draw the free ends with the selected color) or manually (take a thin brush for manicure, apply gel polish in 2 layers and dry under the lamp for 2 minutes). Remember that the ends of the nails must also be sealed. French manicure with gel polish is performed under the rays of a UV light bulb, unlike the usual technique of applying varnish, which has plenty of air.

Step 5 We cover the nails with a top coat (protects against damage, cracks and chips) with a thin layer. After - put under a UV lamp for 2-3 minutes. To make the jacket last you longer - use gel polish, and not the usual top coat.

Step 6 We wipe the remaining sticky layer with a napkin (lint-free), which we dip into a degreaser before (you can use ordinary alcohol).

Step 7 The final stage: apply a cuticle moisturizer to the nails and do not contact with water for at least one hour. Now you know how to do a French manicure with gel polish, follow the written recommendations and then you will get an incredibly beautiful and stylish manicure.

Reasons why the manicure did not work out:

  • in the process of work, you forgot to degrease the nail plate
  • skipped the base and finish coat stage
  • UV lamp problems (incorrect power, weak bulbs)
  • poor quality gel polishes
  • wrong sequence of applying gel polish
