So, what will test participants have to face? The list is quite impressive! This includes new vehicles in the Swedish research branch, revised rules for two and three calibers, premium vehicles with changed characteristics, as well as even more redesigned mini-maps and HD models of vehicles.

Participation in testing
  • Download the special installer (3.94 MB).
  • Run the installer, which will download and install the test version of the client 9.17 (7.04 GB for SD version and additional 4.36GB for HD version). When you run the installer, it will automatically offer to install the test client in a separate folder on your computer; You can also specify the installation directory yourself.
  • If you have the previous test version installed (9.16), then when you launch the general test launcher it will be updated: 392 MB for the SD version and an additional 331 MB for the HD version.

Today we are ready to announce the launch of a general test of update 1.0.1. A lot of new things await you in this version: the Italian branch of tanks, the triumphant return of the Province, global changes that will affect everyone, as well as several small improvements that will help make the game more comfortable and interesting.

“Italians” are not just another nation in the game. Having a magazine reloading mechanic in their arsenal, high-tier Italian tanks will bring new capabilities to the game. Playing with reloading the drum will require you to have clear control over the combat situation and your own actions, but once you master this shooting mechanic, the result will exceed your expectations.

In update 1.0.1, eleven light and medium tanks will be added to the game, which can be roughly divided into three main categories:

  • Low level machines. The first steps of Italian tank building, the period of copying successful foreign projects, as well as the time of our own timid experiments. Classic low-tier Italian vehicles are lightly armored tanks with small caliber guns.
  • Mid-level cars. Development period: military experience made its own adjustments to tank building and forced Italy to “catch up” with the tank powers. The armor became thicker and the guns increased in caliber.

INTERESTING FACT: In the Italian development classification of the early 40s, these tanks were listed as heavy, but compared to the equipment of the leading tank powers they were more likely to be medium.

  • High level cars. The post-war period with a strong influence of the Western school of tank building that developed at that time. Mobility, excellent guns, good declination angles and low armor. The highlight of the branch is experiments on the mechanics of reloading.

How does the recharging mechanism work?

In magazine firing mode, the reloading mechanism allows you to fire one projectile every 2 seconds. If the battle situation demands it, you can confidently shoot single shots.

Everything is quite simple: shells are loaded sequentially into a cassette (each shell has a separate timer). The first projectile is loaded into the cassette the longest, then the reloading time gradually decreases. You can open fire both after loading the drum and after loading the first projectile. In both cases, after each shot, the reloading time for the next projectile increases: this is the same time with which the projectiles were loaded in order at the very beginning. Reloading of the projectile into the drum begins immediately after the shot. The reload time of the projectile in the drum is 2 seconds.

Important point! If you fire a shot while the shell is being loaded into the drum, the timer will reset and the shell will start loading again. If we talk about the Progetto M35 mod 46, then the shells are reloaded at a speed of 12/9/8 seconds. At the same time, the recharging time can be reduced if you install a Rammer, Improved Ventilation, upgrade the crew’s skills, or use equipment.

Return of the Province card

Italian tanks are good, but together with the updated Italian map they look much more interesting. We are pleased to announce that one of the most talked about cards, “Province,” is returning to the game. In its first reincarnation, the map excited the minds of all sand warriors. The map was small, with a lot of cover, involved tactical gameplay and required knowledge of game mechanics - especially camouflage and visibility systems.

Everything would be fine, but the map was available at the initial levels and newcomers often got into battles in the “Province”, for whom it was too difficult. Taking advantage of the fact that newcomers knew the game mechanics less well, more experienced opponents literally tore them apart, not even giving them a chance to immerse themselves in the gameplay. Fun, but not too fair. This went on for quite a long time, but not indefinitely: at some point we were forced to remove the card from the game. And not all players liked this decision. For many months and even years after its release, discussions with requests to return the card to the game excited the vastness of the forum. It's time for our answer.

We wanted to eliminate the map's shortcomings and highlight it strengths. Your feedback will help us customize the map, so be sure to play and share your thoughts!

Premium shells and equipment only for credits

Premium projectiles have been one of the hottest topics of discussion, and in the upcoming general test we will take the first step towards overhauling the entire mechanic.

In update 1.0.1 we plan to disable the purchase of premium shells and equipment for gold. We do not believe that this is the final solution that will bring prosperity and satisfaction to the brave heart of every tanker. This is only the first step, since it will take some time to completely eliminate the shells purchased for gold. It is then that the “gold shell economy” will normalize and we can begin to make changes. We will check possible options in future tests, and choose the best one based on statistics and your feedback - so be sure to share your opinions and follow the news.

Frontline mode

Available on a temporary basis from April 14, 11:00 (Moscow time). To select it, you need to use the battle selector (to the right of the “Battle” button):

Among other innovations, last year the “Frontline” mode was available on the Sandbox server in a 30 vs 30 format. It will soon return, but this time on the main servers, inviting all players to large-scale battles on a huge map.

ATTENTION! The mode will be available on a temporary basis. More detailed description mode will be a little later.

Features of the mode

  • Equipment: Tier VIII equipment.
  • Teams: 30 players per team with the option of playing in a platoon of 5 players.
  • Roles: one team defends, the second team attacks.
  • Objectives: The attacking team must break through the defenses and destroy at least three of the five main objectives (details below). The defenders must hold their positions and keep at least three of the five defended objects intact.

Tier VIII vehicles: The “Frontline” mode will be available only for Tier VIII vehicles. This is done so that as many players as possible can get acquainted with the new game content. We have improved the mode based on your suggestions from the first test, converted the card to HD quality and adjusted a number of game moments from the list of technology to economics.

New combat equipment:

  • Smoke screen: vehicles hide their positions using a smoke screen.
  • Inspiration: the crews of your vehicle, as well as vehicles nearby, receive an increase to their main specialty.
  • Engineering squad: reduces the time to capture a base, increases the efficiency of shooting down a base capture and can stop the capture of a base if located within its borders.

Setting changes. Along with the geographic location of the map (from coastal France to central Germany), some objects on the map also changed - they became more characteristic of this area.

Chance to win. Often a strict time limit interrupted the fight interesting place. We believe that victory should be achieved through conscious actions, and not by delaying time. Therefore, if the battle time expires while the attacking team is in the process of capturing the enemy sector, the battle will continue until the sector is captured or until the defenders maintain control of the territory and break the capture completely (as in football - there is no whistle until the attack is completed). will).

Map changes. To make the gameplay more varied, we have significantly changed the landscape, objects and their location on the map.

Sector capture mechanics: Now, the fewer sectors of the first line are captured, the harder it will be to capture the sectors of the second line. The more sectors in the first line are captured, the less time it will take to capture a sector in the second line of defense.

It is likely that the final version of the Frontline mode will be different from the one being tested now. To help us configure the mode correctly, launch the general test client, select a mode from the list of available ones, and enter the battle!

List of changes to the general test

New mode “Frontline” (from April 14, 11:00 Moscow time)

  • The mode is available only for Tier VIII vehicles.
  • Two teams of 30 players each participate. Wherein:
  1. the attacking team must destroy at least three of the five pillboxes before the end of the battle;
  2. the defending team must prevent the destruction of these pillboxes.

Battlefield

  1. Map size - 9 km2.
  2. The battlefield is conventionally divided into eight functional zones:
    1. the first line is the battle start zone for the attacking team;
    2. the second line is the battle start zone for the defending team: bases A, B and C are located in this location;
    3. the third line is the zone in which bases D, E and F are located;
    4. the fourth line is the area where the pillboxes are located.
  3. The map is also conditionally divided into three strategic directions:
    1. Eastern front;
    2. Central Front;
    3. Western Front.

Combat Development

  • At the beginning of the battle, the players of each team are evenly distributed among ten people on each of the three fronts: Eastern, Central and Western.
  • Players of the attacking team begin the battle from the first line.
  • Players of the defending team begin the battle from the second line.
  • On initial stage During the battle, the third line is not available for players of the attacking team. If an attacking player enters the third line, he will be attacked by the defending team's aircraft.
  • At the initial stage of the battle, the first line is not available to the players of the defending team. If a player of the defending team enters the territory of the first line, he will be attacked by the artillery of the attacking team.
  • After the start of the battle, the attacking team has 12 minutes to destroy the defending team's pillboxes located on the fourth line.

Capturing bases

  1. There are three bases on the second and third lines. At the beginning of the battle, these bases belong to the defending team.
  2. To advance to the third line, the attacking team must capture bases located on the first line.
  3. The base is captured as usual, but taking into account the features of the mode:
    1. to capture a base, the player must drive into the base capture circle;
    2. in the “Frontline” mode, the number of players simultaneously capturing the base has been increased from three to five;
    3. To capture a base, players must score a total of 150 capture points;
    4. if damage is caused to the player capturing the base, the capture progress is not reset, but only paused for five seconds;
    5. To stop a base capture, you need to destroy the capturing player.
  4. Capturing each of the first three bases (A, B and C) adds 120 seconds to the time remaining until the end of the battle.
  5. Capturing each of the second line bases (D, E and F) adds 240 seconds to the time remaining until the end of the battle.

Base defense system

  • Bases D, E and F, located on the third line, have a unique protection system.
  • The difficulty of capturing bases D, E and F depends on the number of captured bases on the second line.
  • If the attacking team captured one base on the second line, then to capture any base on the third line it needs to score 400 capture points.
  • If the attacking team captured two bases on the second line, then to capture any base on the third line it needs to score 250 capture points.
  • If the attacking team has captured all the bases on the second line, then to capture any base on the third line it needs to score 150 capture points.

Additional time

  • If, after the battle time has expired, at least one player from the attacking team is in the base capture circle, then the extra time system is activated.
  • The maximum additional time is 180 seconds.
  • Extra time is disabled if no player captures the base.
  • If the attackers manage to capture the base during the extra time, then additional time is added to the current battle time.

Capture zones

  • When the attacking team captures a base, the zone in which the base was located comes under the control of the attackers. Example: if players capture Base A, then the zone located on the Eastern Front of the first line comes under the control of the attackers.
  • After the zone comes under the control of the attacking team, the defending players are given 60 seconds to leave the captured zone. All equipment of the defending team remaining after 60 seconds in the zone captured by the attackers will be attacked by aircraft.
  • Once the attacking team captures a zone, all adjacent zones become available for the attacking side to capture. Example: if players capture base A, then the area controlled by base D becomes available for them to capture.
  • After capturing any base on the third line, the attacking team gains access to the fourth line and can begin to destroy the defending pillboxes.

Dota

  • Pillboxes are interactive objects and the main target for the attacking team.
  • The strength of each pillbox is 3000 units.
  • Dots can be destroyed by player shells.
  • The pillboxes have exceptional frontal armor (2000 mm).
  • The pillbox's side armor is 165 mm.
  • The most vulnerable point of the pillbox is the back (70 mm).
  • High-explosive fragmentation shells deal 50% of their base damage to pillboxes.

Respawn System

  1. After your vehicle is destroyed (if you have spawn points), you will be taken to the spawn screen.
  2. On this screen you can choose:
    1. Which car to return to battle in? All Tier VIII equipment you purchased is available to you. She must be repaired and manned.
    2. Preferred machine equipment. Regular equipment and shells will be automatically purchased, premium equipment will be replenished only if it is in your Warehouse.
    3. Flank you prefer to land on:
      1. the flank on which there are currently more than 15 teammates will not be available for landing;
      2. No more than three self-propelled guns can land on one flank.
  3. The return is not immediate:
    1. the vehicle in which you were destroyed becomes unavailable for returning to battle within two minutes from the moment of its destruction;
    2. Once you reach the respawn screen, you cannot return to battle for 30 seconds.
  4. The number of spawn points is individual for each player:
    1. at the start of the battle, all players have two spawn points;
    2. every five minutes after the start of the battle, the teams receive reinforcements and each player receives one additional revival;
    3. The player cannot accumulate more than three potential revives.

Repair points

  1. You can use the repair points located on the battlefield:
    1. The radius of the repair zone is 25 meters.
  2. At the moment when you are in the repair circle, the machine's life is restored:
    1. 100 strength points per second;
    2. 10% of projectiles per second (from the base value);
    3. 100 crew HP per second (conditionally);
    4. 100 HP modules per second (conditionally).
  3. All premium shells and premium equipment are restored only if they are in the Warehouse.
  4. After the vehicle's service life is restored to 100%, this particular repair point becomes inaccessible to the player for two minutes.
  5. If the player takes damage during repairs, the repairs stop. And it is this repair point that becomes inaccessible for 25 seconds.

Combat reserves

  1. The mode will allow you to use six combat reserves.
    1. Artillery shelling.
    2. Airstrike.
    3. Reconnaissance aircraft: detects enemy vehicles in a certain area of ​​the map.
    4. Engineering squad: reduces the time to capture a base, increases the effect of knocking down a capture, stops a capture while being in the circle of capturing your own base.
    5. Smoke screen: a cloud of smoke is formed at a given point, hiding the tanks.
    6. Inspiration: The crews of the player’s vehicle and allies within a small radius receive an increase to their main specialty.
  2. In the Hangar, before the battle, you need to install the combat reserve you are interested in in special slots.
  3. You will have from one to three slots for reserves depending on the type of equipment (one for medium and heavy tanks, two for tank destroyers, three each for light tanks and self-propelled guns).
  4. All combat reserves have five levels of development.
  5. To increase the level of your combat reserve, you need to spend a supply point.
  6. You receive supply points for each level of account development.

Ranks:

  1. For performing useful actions in battle, you will be awarded ranks.
  2. The higher the rank with which you finish the battle, the greater the final increase in experience.
  3. There are six titles in total:
    1. "Private": all players start the battle with this rank.
    2. "Sergeant": +10% experience.
    3. "Lieutenant": +25% experience.
    4. "Captain": +50% experience.
    5. "Major": +100% experience.
    6. "General": +200% experience.

Game tips

An alternative version of game tips will become available, describing game mechanics and game entities. Game hints provide additional information about more complex game entities, such as shells, equipment, equipment, vehicle modules, specialties, crew skills and abilities, battle modes, etc. To call such a hint, press Alt when viewing regular hints.

Warnings about potentially malicious messages

In the chat window of personal messages (when communicating with users not from the contact list or from the clan), a warning will be displayed that you should not follow links or share your account password. After closing this message several times, it will no longer appear.

New rules for purchasing ammunition and equipment

The ability to purchase ammunition and equipment with in-game gold has been removed. Now they can only be purchased with credits.

In the Stronghold, the ability to see the best clans by Elo rating has been added while waiting for enemy selection in Sortie and Offensive, as well as while waiting for the next battle in Offensive. Each division displays its own top clans.

It is worth noting that when writing, we took into account the opinions of former and current WoT testers (About 6-8 people specifically for WoT Express). In order to be objective, the opinion of former testers is very important, we talk to different groups. People who left PSG (by at will), with a scandal or they were simply tired. Nicknames and names, of course, will not appear in this material, however, testers or a developer of this department will understand the essence and recognize some personalities.

First of all, we want to subjectively and correctly describe what this place of work is like. We do not want to humiliate or offend anyone. Are you ready to dive into the world of Wargaming testing? Then let's go!

Marokko (the person in charge of ST WoT) somehow wanted to tell everything in detail and even shoot a video, but in the end it somehow didn’t work out. And so we write. If you want to skim the text in 1 minute, you can immediately close the article.

SuperTest (ST, СТ) is one of the stages of game testing, when local checks in the office (by company employees) are completed, and mass testing of those innovations and fixes is required that employees simply have no time to close. It is the SuperTesters (Toasters, crabs) who receive the first information about future updates, tanks, etc. It is worth immediately noting that this information is closed and is under NDA. ST is a copy of the forum and the game with overlapping patches; each patch contains a specific update that is tested.

NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) - agreement on non-disclosure of confidential information. Such a contract can be signed with any entity that you trust with access to confidential information.

But it is precisely from here that the main flow of “information leakage” occurs, popularly called (Exclusive) information from ST. It is from this information that we can look at the maps in advance or find out the preliminary performance characteristics of the tank. Watermakers often make videos on this topic. But I wrote above that all the information is in the public domain, so if they find out that it was you who “leaked the information,” it will be very difficult for you... Have there been such cases? Yes, there are a lot of them. They caught toasters who were leaking information and got hit hard in the butt. Then no one saw them. At a minimum, you will simply be kicked out of SuperTest and will be permanently banned from all accounts in all of the company’s projects; at maximum, you will be forced to pay a very substantial fine, because they have all the information on you. Now things are a little different with plums; there are fewer of them.

Well, did your dear friend scare you? Let's move on to the next stage. If you decide to become a WoT tester, help your native game, direct the game to the right direction then... you won't succeed, but more on that later.

You go to the forum under your nickname, scroll to the very bottom and see a special section. Next, you read carefully 2 topics and begin to write an application. I’ll say right away: write thoughtfully, clearly, constructively. If you don’t have a very strong computer, it doesn’t matter; if the application is good and competent, there won’t be any problems. Important! No need to flood or offtopic, write your form and wait. They may answer you in a week, or maybe in a month. Just check the forum periodically. If the answer is positive, you will receive an additional questionnaire and a test task via PM on the tank forum. You will also need to fill it out in a personal conversation, thoughtfully, and complete several simple test tasks. This will take everyone differently, on average 2 hours. And if you have completed everything well, you will be informed about this in the same conversation on the forum and all you have to do is wait for a letter to your email. Within a week you will receive a letter containing all the information: passwords, server, links.

That's all, you are almost a WoT SuperTester (While you are all rushing to the forum to write your applications, think carefully).

After receiving the letter, go where you can and go read all the rules on the tester forum. Next in TS we will have a short briefing (about an hour) and you will eventually be asked if you are ready to move on? Only 1% usually leave SuperTest after this stage, and there are some. After passing all the tests and questionnaires, they realize that this is not for them. After that, you will be given a badge (a special group in TS) and you are 90% percent a full-fledged tester. What will you do on ST? Of course, test tanks and various features. From button and launcher tests to game mode tests. All testers have access to all tests. I forgot to mention above that on average you need to devote 1-2 hours to ST for 20 days, so as not to fly out in a month. You can spend an hour a day for 30 days. And then you will be all right. Further, when you get used to it, you yourself will determine and distribute your time and going to tests. But if you are a good tester, believe me, this volunteer work eats up a lot of time. A lot of time! In a month or two, if you hold out, you will be given a special, exclusive tank - T-44-122. Only SuperTesters have this tank and you can show it off to your friends. The tank is a kind of “imba” at level 7. One important detail, from the new batch of people arriving at ST, usually there are 50-100 people, only 70% of them remain - this is an extremely important observation!

Now a little about your tools:

  • ST forum - here you will write your feedback, the forum has all the rules, regulations for testing, each tank/map has its own specific regulations, you need to familiarize yourself with them before testing.
  • Mail - anything and everything will come here. In a year (if you hold out) the number of messages in your inbox will be 1000 more. Everything comes to your email, patches, regulations (which are duplicated on the forum) and much more.
  • TS - during the test you are required to be in the room with the test. During the test, you can have a casual conversation, or you can, for example, listen to music. Quite a lamp atmosphere, but more on that later.
  • Jabber conference - here the beginning/end/announcement about a set of tests is written, time, organizer, important announcements (duplicate by email), in general you can find out all the information.
  • Server - there are several of them. A regular server with all the tanks in the game, huge reserves of in-game currency. I think everything is clear here.
  • Bug tracker is a special site for working with bugs in the game.

All tests are usually carried out in training rooms. These are tests of new tanks on the Krabovo map (and some others) 5x5, less often 6x6. New tanks are tested against certain replacements at their level. One team has 5 new tanks, the other has 5 old ones. But I will talk about this later.

There are also map tests. And many other small tests.

In principle, ST has quite a lamp-like and soulful atmosphere. You can always discuss some news or talk about pressing problems during the test. Chat in the Jabber conference or TeamSpeak, gather a party in Dota2 or CS:GO. You can safely play Hearthstone in special TS rooms and talk with your colleagues about the problems of the game. There are many possibilities, this ST is not only tests, tests and more tests. You will find friends and take tests together. If you find yourself there, you will hardly want to leave. The most interesting thing is that ST has a system of bonuses and incentives. At the end of each month, you will receive a reward in the form of gold to your main account:

  • 1 test is 1 point.
  • 30 points - 3k gold.
  • You need to gain about 30 points per month in order not to be kicked out of ST.

You can get a maximum of 34,500 gold per month. Those. you will need to score 120 points in 1 month. But you have to devote a lot of time to tests. And not everyone has such indicators. On average, testers get 9-12k gold per month per base. Another pleasant and main bonus of the Tank SuperTest will be one more thing.

After the patch is released, an average of 3-4 tanks are added to your main account, which you can ride in random for an unlimited number of battles. But don’t get carried away at all, because in full gold you won’t be able to raise your stats. And one more thing, if any of these tested tanks are put on free sale, then this tank will remain with you forever. This is not a bad bonus. Often, there are 1 such tanks, maximum 2 per patch. But the rest of the tanks are strictly taken away forever (GK, LBZ, EU server, gift set, gift tank). And another bonus will be roaming for certain SuperToasters. But it's not for everyone. The last bonus will be the opportunity to get tanks that are not on sale, for example: KV-5, Type 59, E-25, TOG II* and others. Well, and the very last point, there is still the opportunity to get yourself premium planes and ships.

Participation in testing
DOWNLOAD THE SPECIAL INSTALLER
Run the installer, which will download and install the test version of the client 1.0 (8.73 GB for the SD version and 15.4 GB for the HD version). When you run the installer, it will automatically offer to install the test client in a separate folder on your computer; You can also specify the installation directory yourself.
If you have the previous test version installed (9.22_test2), then when you launch the general test launcher it will be updated: 5.36 GB for the SD version and 7.49 GB for the HD version.
Please note: Installing in a folder containing legacy test client files may cause technical problems.
Run the installed test version.
Only those players who registered in World of Tanks before 23:59 (Moscow time) on February 4, 2018 can take part in the test.

Due to the large number of players on the test server, there is a restriction on user entry. All new players who want to take part in testing the update will be placed in a queue and will be able to log onto the server as it becomes available.
If the user changed the password after 23:59 (Moscow time) on February 4, 2018, authorization on the test server will be available only with the password that was used before the specified time.

Peculiarities

Payments are not made to the test server.
In this testing, earnings of experience and credits do not increase.
Achievements on the test server will not transfer to the main server.

We would also like to inform you that during testing of 1.0, scheduled maintenance will be carried out on the test servers at 7:00 (Moscow time) daily. The average duration of work is 25 minutes.
