Even with children, you can make a beautiful one that will glow with multi-colored lights.

To create a mask in the image of a monkey we need:

  • cardboard disposable plates
  • gouache paints brown, white and mustard colors
  • art brush
  • wooden skewer
  • scissors
  • black felt-tip pen
  • heat gun
  • simple pencil

DIY paper monkey mask - step by step with photo:

Take a cardboard disposable plate and with a simple pencil draw eyes for the monkey. To do this, place the plate to your face and mark with a pencil at what level the eyes will be located.

Carefully cut out the eyes with scissors; it is best to use scissors with rounded tips.

We cut off all unnecessary parts along the contour.

On a separate plate we draw ears in any shape, which we subsequently also cut out with scissors.

Now we need to paint the mask with paints. To do this, take a brush and mustard-colored paint, paint over the inside area of the ears and muzzle.

paint Brown We decorate the outer part of the face and ears.

For expressiveness, use a black felt-tip pen to outline the monkey’s nostrils, mouth and the border of the face, where the light part turns into the dark.

Warm up the gun to the desired temperature and apply glue to the edge of the ear.

Glue the ears to the face.

Turn the monkey over and back side glue a wooden skewer onto hot glue, cover the top of the skewer with a small paper rectangle.

Your DIY paper monkey mask is ready! You can go to the carnival.

New Year's carnival! This is perhaps the most anticipated event in the lives of not only children, but also adults. A wonderful time is approaching New Year's fairy tale. According to the eastern calendar, which means it’s time to think about “” for your child.

How to make a monkey mask with your own hands from paper? There are several variations of children's masks: a mask with an elastic band is the classic version, you can also make a “pince-nez mask” with a handle, or a mask that is put on top of the head and does not cover the face.

In order to make a monkey mask, you will need a thick colored paper or cardboard of brown, sand and white flowers, glue and rubber band of the required size.

Next you need to make a pattern. To do this, take thick cardboard and draw a circle on it, the size of which your mask will be. Also draw a heart, slightly smaller than your circle, and an oval of such a size that it horizontally covers the entire lower part of the circle and extends slightly beyond it. To make a template for the ears, draw two more small circles. All the main details are ready. Can be cut. Now you need to check whether the mask is proportional. The large circle is the base of the mask, on top of it we place a heart-shaped figure, the top of this figure is the monkey’s eyes, and the oval is the mouth. It must be applied horizontally so that it covers the lower part of the heart. We lay out circles on the sides - ears. If the monkey turns out to be proportional and suits you, then you can cut out the parts from colored cardboard. We cut out the main circle from brown cardboard, all other parts from sand-colored cardboard. Now you can collect all the parts in ready-made mask. We fold them in the same order: a large circle, a heart-shaped figure on top, an oval, and lay out the ears on the sides. Glue all the parts together. Do not forget that the circles for the ears must be placed under the base.

The next step is to make slits for the eyes and mouth. Try the mask on your child and make marks for the eyes at the desired level. Use sharp scissors to carefully cut small vertical ovals. Next, try on the mask again and make a mark at mouth level. Cut out narrow strip at the level of the mouth. Now your mask is almost ready.

Take a thin black marker and draw a nose just above the mouth. It can be depicted either as two dots or as a small circle. Also draw outlines on the ears with a thin marker. Now the monkey mask is ready for the New Year's ball.

If you want a mask with an elastic band, then take a thick needle and make holes in the area of the ears, thread an elastic band of the desired size through them.

If you want a “pince-nez mask,” then glue a wooden or cardboard handle 10-15 cm long to the bottom of the mask.

Another option is a mask that is placed on the head like a crown and does not cover the face. The beauty of this solution is that there is no need to do unnecessary manipulations: cuts for the eyes, mouth and bother with an elastic band. So, to make a monkey mask with your own hands, you will need the same brown and sand-colored cardboard, glue, and also eyes for our monkey. You can buy such decor in special stores or you can use suitable buttons.

To make a mask, cut out the base from brown thick cardboard. This is a long rectangle that we will fold into an oval, that is, its length should be such that the mask can be easily put on the child’s head, and the width of the rectangle should be the desired width of the mask, 7-10 cm. Next, we glue the rectangle into an oval and get the base for the mask . Cut out a heart and a small oval from sand-colored cardboard. Glue these shapes onto the base so that the oval covers the bottom of the heart. We get a place for the eyes at the top of the heart and the monkey’s mouth. Now glue on the eyes and draw the nose and mouth with a marker. Next, cut out two small circles from brown cardboard - ears. Glue them on the sides and trace the outlines with a marker.

This is how easy it is to make your own monkey mask! We put it on top of the head, like a crown. Enjoy the creative process and involve your children in it!

Festive parties in kindergarten or primary school often take place in the form of theatrical performances. Every child participates in the celebration. For an interesting performance you need appropriate costumes and head masks. You can buy them in specialized children's stores or make them yourself.

Used to make masks different materials. Most often - paper and cardboard. The picture is downloaded, enlarged on the computer screen, and then printed.

The sketches can be colored; the child just needs to cut out the model. There are black and white or theatrical coloring masks. These need to be colored with pencils or paints at your discretion. Leather, foam rubber, felt and other materials are also used in production.

The shape of the masks is also different. Some are made on a wide rim. The image of an animal or fairy-tale character is glued to the headband and placed on the head, while the child’s face is not covered. Other sketches hide the face, and cuts are made for the eyes. There are masks, respirators, gas masks (rubber elements are usually used for their manufacture) or on a stick.

For girls

When choosing sketches for girls, preference is given to funny animal faces. For example, a bear or a bunny with a pink bow, masks in the form of powerful fairies or beautiful princesses.

For boys

A holiday mask for a boy depends on the child’s character and preferences. Some kids love to portray not only good animals (bear cub, cockerel, piggy, hippopotamus), but also pirates, sorcerers, supermen, and villains.

Animal faces

Costumes and masks of forest and domestic animals are a common option for holding a matinee. Some children prefer to dress up as cats, dogs, hares and other recognizable animals (bull, goat, wolf). Others want models of less common animals - raccoon, moose, platypus or koala.

A universal option is the “mask of the Year”. It symbolizes the animal according to the eastern calendar. For 2019, the faces of a pig, piglet, and wild boar are relevant. They can be made not only from paper, but also sewn from fabric. Patterns and sewing patterns make it easy to complete the task.

Having selected ready-made sketches, they are saved or copied for subsequent printing, and the masks are cut out. They are usually used as a headband without covering the baby's face. To make a full-fledged mask, you need to make an effort. The specificity lies in the anatomy of the bird's head. You need to prepare a template for the head and beak separately. The bird's beak is glued along the marked lines. Its size and shape depend on the bird - for an owl it will be small and hooked, for a crow it will be long and sharp.

Mask designs for cutting

There are different templates, which do not always symbolize animals. Children love cool costumes; a mask of a plague doctor, a mad genius or a gypsy is suitable for them. Some people play evil characters at matinees. In this case, masks with the face of the devil, an old sorcerer or uncle Chernomor would be relevant.

The black and white masks are painted by the children themselves. The advantage of sketches is that the child shows creativity. His cow comes in purple and his goat comes in flowery pink. After the matinee, the organizers organize competitions for the most interesting or original face mask.

When creating a New Year's image, masks of snowflakes, Father Frost, Snow Maiden or Baba Yaga are suitable. If a child does not want to wear a full-fledged mask, then the ears of a hare, fox or bear will suit him.

Emotion masks will convey a happy or sad mood. They are made in the shape of a sun or a popular smiley face.

Sketches

The facial expressions of the mask are of great importance. Even the most ordinary characters convey a palette of moods. They can be sad and cheerful, kind and angry, surprised and indifferent. This is achieved by drawing the eyebrows (raised, lowered, like a house), a smile on the face, and the position of wrinkles, if we are talking about a mask of an old man or woman. Emotions are conveyed not only by the faces of people and animals, but also by inanimate images: templates for masks of flowers (bells, roses, daisies), vegetables and fruits (apples, tomatoes, plums).

  • foil;
  • newspaper;
  • napkins;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • paint and brush.

  • Take thin foil and crumple it well. Then straighten and level again. Place it on your face and try to shape all the curves. Mark with a felt-tip pen the places under which the eyes are located.
  • Remove the foil from the face and cut holes where the primate's eyes would be.

  • Lay out the mask with napkins moistened with water. Dry. To speed up the process, you can use a hairdryer or place the craft on the battery.

Sew on the ears, muzzle and, placing a little padding polyester, secure the primate’s nose with threads. Outline and cut out the eyes, draw a mouth and sew on an elastic band. Tint the contours of the hairstyle at the border, draw the tip of the nose with a black marker.

The photo shows patterns of mask parts made from multi-colored paper. You can scan them, enlarge them and cut out the same ones. But it’s better not to cut a stick out of paper, but to use, for example, a wooden popsicle stick or an ordinary twig wrapped in paper. Assemble all the parts with your own hands and glue them together. The monkey mask is ready.
