You can also make a paste from starch and water (heat 50 ml of water and 1 tablespoon of starch to a thick, almost transparent mass), and you can also use gelatin glue (0.5 teaspoon of gelatin, pour 100 ml of cold water, after 30 minutes, bring almost to a boil and cool to room temperature). All three methods are environmentally friendly and safe.

Separate the bottom white layer of the napkin from the colored one. There are napkins where you can easily separate 2 white layers, and there are napkins where the colored layer adheres very tightly to the white layer. On initial stage You need to separate the part that comes off easily.

For further convenience of decoupaging eggs, it is convenient not to cut out fragments of the drawings, but to tear them out with your hands, then when gluing, fewer wrinkles will form.

4. Now let's prepare the eggs. They need to be rinsed thoroughly under water. If you prepared the broth in the evening, then some of the onion peels can be removed, but if you use freshly prepared ones, then it is better not to throw away the peels, but to cook them together with the eggs.

To give an even color, it is best to boil the broth in advance and let it brew overnight. It is better to completely remove the onion skins during the process of boiling eggs.

5. So, put the broth on the fire along with the eggs and boil everything for at least 10 minutes, while carefully stirring the husks so that they do not stick to the shell, as unpainted spots may remain.

After 5 minutes, the eggs will not color well, but don’t worry, everything will work out!

6. After 10-15 minutes, carefully remove the eggs from the paint and add a new portion.

Finished eggs can be decorated with wax pencils or stickers.

I found another interesting version of egg coloring. Since during Lent you cannot eat fast food, and birds still fly these days, our ancestors found the following way out of the situation. Layed eggs were boiled so that they would not spoil and they were painted in order to distinguish them from raw ones.

So, in order to paint eggs with onion skins, but with a pattern, we will need all the same materials: the onion peel itself, eggs, water, salt, a saucepan, leaves of parsley, cilantro or basil.

By the way, you need fresh and white eggs, and country eggs are best, as they are larger and tastier.

Before painting, the eggs must be at room temperature, not cold. To ensure a rich color, before work, moisten a cloth with vinegar and wipe each testicle.

Stages of work:

1. Cook a decoction of onion peels and prepare the eggs according to the method described above.

The products can also be made speckled, for this we will need rice. The process is the same: boil the broth, peel the eggs, and then pour some rice into a small bowl. Next, soak the egg in water, then dip it in rice and place it on a piece of gauze, wrapping it well.

Boil for 20 minutes, remove the cheesecloth and rice, and admire.

If you want to receive openwork pattern , then use lace fabric or tulle. To implement this method, wrap the eggs in a cloth with a pattern and dip them in a decoction of onion skins. Cook for 20 minutes, then drain and remove the cloth.

To add shine, after painting, lubricate the products with a cotton swab dipped in vegetable oil.

So, to obtain a yellow-brown color, onion peels are used. For red - beets or blueberries. Orange shades can be obtained by mixing turmeric and onion skins. Cotton and silk are cut into squares, the size of which is 17-18 cm (the optimal minimum). The following operation is performed:

• a piece of white cloth is spread out;
• on top of white fabric a piece of silk is placed;
